Title: FAO Alex (well sort of)
Post by: ftp on October 20, 2009, 12:02:34 pm
Cleaning the insides of a retirement complex this morning and I noticed that some of the outside cleans I do were poor. These were the windows that were the same width as my brush - the jets of water don't meet right at the top under the frame (i leave the top frame on this property) and so spots have formed in the middle at the top of these windows.
I was wondering if four jets work better? Possibly 1mm jets. Does anyone do this, does it work or are you loseing too many bristles to get the jets in?
How much to supply one and can you still get 1mm jets (Alex)

I could but as I'm so wealthy I thought I would get Gardiners to do it for me. Not sure if I want four 2mm jets so I was asking if 1mm were available and wether it works particularly well. Anyway, what are you doing home?
I've got a good excuse - I'm peed off with window cleaning this week!

We can order in 1mm jets if we haven't got some on the shelf. It would cost about £10 to have four fitted to a brush (new or your current one).

Alex,

Is that ready to plug into the pole hose i.e. all Y pieces and connecting clear hose?

Regards

Alistair

Thanks Alex (or Mrs A) Have you ever tried four 1mm jets? If so how did it go?
Three would be ideal but I haven't seen a four legged y piece lately.  :D

It would be 4 jets. You need 3x Y pieces to connect them up.

Never used 4. One day I might try it out properly, I have tested it out, but never on a day's work.

Alex,

I'd like to try a SL brush with 4 jets, should I contact the office?

Have you managed to take the idea we discussed any further?

Regards

Alistair

you can use 3 jets

i have done it on a wider brush i tried

first fit a Y -- 1 going to the middle jet the other to a Y

from that Y you just go to the end jets

job done, works well , though this was a wider brush on a commercial job with big panes of glass

Contact the Office and I'll send them an explanatory email as well.  The other idea is firmly in my mind but no time at present to develop it.  Hopefully in a few weeks' time I will get to it.

(As a well sort of reply) These 4 OTT  Micro hozelocks are smaller than 1mm, the last thing on the glass should be pure water, this allows you to rinse on but save water.

Jeff, nice pic but the only thing I would say is that the contact points of water on the glass don't seem to meet. I was hoping to eliminate any gaps and so not to have to move the brush head sideways to compensate?

As you move the brush from left to right in practice the clean water flows into the gaps ok. Maybe you want a fan jet high pressure system, I never got on with it because of the over spray and the need for pressure tight joints.
