Hi,
Are there any special techiques for cleaning a threadbare area of tufted carpet, other than minimum agitation and wetting as well as turning suction down.
The customer has the same carpet laid to all areas of the house and at this moment in time can not afford to replace.
Thanks
Eddie

You have to beware of browning. Not a problem if the carpet is brown in colour, but a nightmare if it is white, cream colour. Using a fibre rinse should solve this and speed up drying with a turbo dryer.
Not sure if m/s can cause browning as only starting to use them recently.

Eddie,
If it's just a worn carpet then just clean gently around this area.
It is worth looking to see if the bareness has been caused by mildew as the, area around it will be weak and you could make the patch bigger!
Cheers,
Doug
