Thanks, little bit far(I don't travel much) but I wouldn't mind some info on how you do yours. I'll be on a meter soon so the plan is to suppliment my water with rainwater. All the 'proper' methods on the net seem to be way too expensive. I'm not sure yet if I can find a way to pass it through the resin bottles on my existing system. It might mean going back to having the resin in my van again so that my ro water and rain water mix goes through them.
I don't like the di in my van as it always gave me pressure/air lock problems.

Black IBC's seem to be the cheapest option. I can pick them up from Bristol. 600l would be better but they seem quite rare. Proper water butts are silly money. Would be nice to have an underground tank but the costs would not balance out short to mid term.

this is my setup it is fed from my garage roof and house

i have filters in gutters
and this is fed into a small holding tank from the bottom rising through

more filters and resin

i use the ro to top up with every now and again

been using this for over a year now ,no real probs

hope this makes sense to you

Thanks Mike, sorry i'm a bit slow answering only the laptop is switched on and I'm looking in now and again as I pass through.
Crikey that will stop anyone breaking in! So the white tank is your rainwater tank? Still unsure how you filter it through resin and get it into the holding tank. Do you rely on gravity to force it through? What are the tds readings like of your rainwater?
