I know this subject has been covered in posts before but now that it is almost impossible to find a harris brush round my way, is there an alternative for the threaded piece needed to complete the job?

gardiners and a few others sell the threaded bit you are looking for

heat up the plastic bit it comes with over gas stove, whilst warm force it to thread into a plastic angle adapter as best you can, drill small hole either side of the angle adapter where its threaded into it and put two self tapping screws in to secure it, wrap some insulating tape over it.
Now when the pole has had it and you buy a new one half the jobs done, you just unscrew from old pole and screw onto a new one.

Thanks for that guys ;)

get the threaded bit from a bentley brush, £1.80 from asda. Get angle adapter from fleabay for £8.99 for two, the angle adapter fits gardiners brushes as i have used these.

i just get a handle from the mops they sell in B&Q chop the end off the harris, chop the end off the mop handle. it fits perfectly inside and secure it with a bolt. its solid as a rock. i even recycle the end thread from harris pole to harris when their knackered

Had a look on gardiners but which one is it? There are several.

Would be keen to know, as I am fed up drilling out brooms, and bolts, if I could have a section ready to roll, that I could bond on, fantastic!!

i have not tried this.
but would the residential crank joint used to fit brush to wfp poles work.
I made a pole from carp fish pole 30 ft and joined brush to pole using res crank joint.
If you take bolt out middle saw of semi circle bit, then this straight threaded bit may fit in top of harris pole.
I stress may as i have not tried.
I was thinking of this and also doing this at bottom of harris pole to screw two harris pole together for 25 to 30 ft pole don't know if this is just a pipe(pole) dream :D
thanks lee
