Title: Leaflets
Post by: Sapphire Window Cleaning on October 14, 2009, 10:22:47 pm
My leaflets have just been dispatched from the printers, can't wait for them to turn up so I can have them delivered asap.
I want to gain 300 customers by Christmas, and I am having 30,000 flyers delivered, anyone think I could get 300 customers from 30,000 flyers.

Personally I don't think theres a bad time to drop flyers, if you drop flyers during raining days I find the response slower, as they wait til its dry and sunny before calling you.

yea i was kind of thinking the same, i need to publicise and build my buisness no matter what the weather or time of the year. obviously there are peak times, but i think it would be silly to not advertise because you think another time of year would be better!

Good luck to you with the leaflet distribution,I can tell you from my experience was very poor this last few months hand delivered over 4 thousand with only around 30 calls, very pro looking 2 imo all with a biz card attatched, need too canvass hard too I think to gain a good customer base in a short amount of time

Matt.....in answer to your question......no.
This area of Essex is overworked anyway, although you will allways find new customers.I work on a figure for leaflets of 0.25% - 0.35% for new enquiries, and about 65% sign up.I hope you do achieve your targets though, but to build 300 decent customers imo will take more than two flyer drops.
The area you are working is where justin ruggles has a decent size round (over on the other forum).
Good luck though

whats happening to your leicester round M ?   you should be allrite in Essex, my tip would be to weedle out the little villages most ,theres plenty of em,and target them with your leaflets     . the villages have more trees, which means more chance of the houses getting dirtier -better for you

Hi Matt

Hope you do get at least 300 from 30000 leaflets. My leaflets have also been dispatched from the printers(think the same as you 1-2 print ?). I'm only getting 5000 printed though but I would like to think I'll get a decent return from mine at least 1/100 as I'll post in an area one day and go back and door knock the next.

Here's hoping any way

Matt...i am up in clacton area, you know the place where you come to die or sign on the dole(only joking).
I really hope you do well with the leaflets, the figures i gave are formed through many drops, but some areas have come up with better return figures than those quoted.
Keep us informed,i allways like to see someone doing well.

I think it is much cheaper to deliver 30000 leaflets than employ a canvassing company. At least you know people who call, really want your service.

Say you got £3000 in work.  What would a canvassing company charge £6000? With a lot of "not so sure" customers.
Title: Re: Leaflets
Post by: Sapphire Window Cleaning on October 15, 2009, 02:11:56 pm
Its costing me £1,000 to have 35,000 leaflets printed and then 30,000 delivered by a distribution company, I am hoping to get £2,000 minimum.
where as a canvassing company would charge me £4,000
hhmmmm £1,000 or £4,000, hard decisions lol

Delivery is usually up to 5 days after they tell you it's gone to print

I was informed it would be 2-3 working days, as the leaflets are actually printed in Germany. lol

Bloody UPS tracking service, due date 19/10 it said, so I think oh well I'll have to sit in on Monday then, so I go out today. Just to return home this evening and then get a knock from my next door neighbour(an 80+ yr old woman) to say there is a big heavy parcel for me. She was never moving that with her zimmer.

Any way happy days I got my 5000 leaflets, they look realy good so i just need to get out a deliver them now.  ;D

Personally I would do repeat drops in the area you really want. The first 2 or 3 times they go through the door they will be 'invisible' it is only on the 4th or 5th time that any sort of adverts work. That is unless they have something of the WOW about them, and to be honest while they say what you want them to say they are a bit 'forgettable'.

Hope it works out for you though, for sure 35000 should get the phone ringing.

For your next lot I would try adding the following:

A picture of you NOT working but looking straight on, they will associate your company with you rather than 'staff' working. Put a smart shirt on rather than "work wear"

Rather than tell folk what you do and how good you are, tell them how much THEY will benefit from your services.

A couple of recommendations from your current customers saying how great you are. (Genuine ones only)

Constructive critisism and not 'having a go'.  :)

1-2 print do artwork but are pretty expensive for artwork, very cheap for the printing though.
find someone to sort out your artwork then order them with 1-2 print. this will save you loads.
