How far are you travelling to the job, are you bringing the rug away to clean, are you doing other work for the client??

Ian,

Minimum £40,  but I would encourage custy to have something else cleaned at the same time  , to make it worthwhile.

Cheers,

Doug

£40.00. Would collect as passing and tried to clean other rugs at same time, as long as I had some booked in.

Seriously thought, I have in charged £100 to pick up, clean & return.

Although most people will not be prepared to pay.

£40- £60 depending upon condition and type and it will be cleaned off site.

IMO to get £1 plus per sqft for rugs the customers needs to understand its a specialist process and service and must be done offsite.  If she just wants a quick lick over while your cleaning the carpets then you need to make a judgement call on how easy is it to do on site and how long will it take to get it looking its best.

The reason I asked it is one Customer Phoned and like you I was going to charge £50 but she did not want to pay that and she wanted it doing that day.

We have also have had postings about rug cleaning plants so I was wondering how much they would charge and how you get the work.

I do think customers need educating.

I notice in states there is a two day IICRC Rug Cleaning Technicians Course
