MB Window Cleaning
Did you lock your own thread?
-
No, Why?
Is it locked then?

Is it locked then?
yeah ::)
stealth mods at it again.

Can one of you Moderators please explain why we can't talk about this subject.
after all we have discussed issues that have legal implications in the past.
Mike, Ian, Dave, can one of you email me the reason why we can't talk about it. I would guess you do not want to post in the forum.
Thanks.

How long will it be before this thread is locked? :-\
-
Which thread is locked?
-
Gutter vac that was started by Craig and the one Guttervac thread locked started by me.

Matt
changed the topic title, so they may actually see it requires a reply..
Personally i don't agree with locking threads without getting full explanations - too many times this keeps on happening.
All this does is create a bad feeling on the forums towards the Moderators, and then other threads get started up asking how, when, why, what was the thread closed.
If this was addressed in the proper way like adults, repeats threads would not be needed to keep springing up.
-
Threads that get locked like these, without a proper explanation will only fuel speculation that the moderators are taking sides.
I'm not sure if the equipment suppliers that the moderators use are the ones that are filing infringements suites against Craig.
From members perspective it certainly looks like the moderators are taking sides.
I thought moderators have to show an unbias view.

Mike locked the first post due to legal issues.
Why dont you just respect that.
Apart from that I know nothing of the case.
If it matters that much to tell me why you want more information,
are you an interested party ?
-
I can understand why the thread was locked and respect your views Dave. However as I am a user of a copy I suppose, I would like to know where I stand and regarding patents etc and to know if I am breaching any laws. We are told lots of things regarding patents yet nobody seems clear on these issues. Any questions usually result in a slanging match where no one is the wiser.

everyone is using diy vacs nowadays i have seen loads knocking around.
-
I dont know who is involved honestly !
Whatever it is, if Mike thinks the forum shouldnt be involved then as site owner that is his perogative.
I honestly think Mike isnt taking sides, I have loads of people asking me to remove posts for all sorts of reasons, so I think Mike is just respecting someones wishes.
I will speak to Mike to find out.
-
I am interested yes, as I know Craig.
what has upset me is the fact we have had issues on here in the past that have legal implications.
All Craig asked for was help on a question about a patent.
We ask questions all the time about various window cleaning topics.
If Mike doesn't want to get involved then why didnt he just say so when he locked the first thread.
"this thread has been locked due to a pursuing legal case" doesnt really explain why he needed to lock it, does it?
If Mike, you or Ian don't want to be involved in that, then fair enough and I respect that.
All I ask is that the moderators be a little more open with their members.
Thats my opinion on that Dave.

I dont mean to be nasty to anyone whether its moderators or members Dave.
Hope you dont take offence.

hi Guys
Im not going to speak on the subject for now,
All will say had good day today found out loads.
And will enjoy rugby training this week with the yellow pads getting alot more aggression, as im a tad pi##ed off having to give another thought such madness.
-
Craig, whatever you do, keep your head down on this forum, take a leaf out of Alex's book and don't get drawn into any silly arguments and you'll do well. I don't kow you and have no wish to take any sides. All I would say is that when a supplier starts spouting off and insulting members on here it does nothing for their credibility.
-
I totally agree.
-
However, there should be more clarity as to why posts are locked / deleted without cause.
An explanation before the closure of a thread is good for everyone to know and to understand a position for it not to come up again because other do not know for what reason it was closed in the first place, and some advise from mods to other future behaviour/postings.
Although we are asked to respect wishes of Mike, i think Mike should also respect our wishes of uses of his forum to be told why. If you want respect you need to earn it..
By saying this is my ball and im taking it - doesn't give you respect.
NOW,
This is how a thread should be closed.
I feel that my original post has now been answered, and that we should cease commenting on the matter for now. We all await the outcome of this very interesting development.
