Title: CRB checks
Post by: Sapphire Window Cleaning on October 12, 2009, 01:41:38 pm
Can anyone tell me if window cleaners have to be CRB checked, as some bus drivers do because of working with the elderly etc.
I ask this because I have a few Elderly customers who are usually on their own and are very vulnerable.

You only need a CRB check if you work within the buildings or with vunerable people, you don't need one if your Just doing domestics but there is nothing stopping you from getting a CRB check and adding it to your flyers.

It is a good thing to have even for Matt or anyone else to tell his OAP's that he has been checked.

As far as I know you can't CRB check yourself, & you need a seperate CRB check for each occasion you need it!

I.E. a school may do a crb on you & a nursing home may too, BUT they both have to do a seperate one each. ;)

Eh.......? I dont think that is true!

I know you have to have a seperate check for each county you work in though.

theres 2 crb checks ones £30 and the other is £50, if you was to work in care for instance you get a crb check which lasts 3 years but if say 12 months down the line you get another care job the crb doesnt go with you your new employer needs to do a new check on you, but if a school needs a crb you can ask them to do one for you but as a contractor and not a employee so this can be used at other homes, schools etcas it will have your company name on it  ;D

i have been crb checked because we clean at nurseries/ schools and i'm also school governor at local comp. You do not require a separate crb check for different counties .
