Title: "Intelligent" 3 & 4 stage battery chargers
Post by: Ian Lancaster on October 09, 2009, 05:31:51 pm
Can anyone enlighten me as to how these work, and what they do that's better than the bog standard Halfords Fully Automatic charger that I've been using for the last umpteen years?

Been surfing but the only concrete fact I've come up with is they cost about £150-200 and the Halfords one is about £35

Reason I ask is I've got an Elecsol 100ah that's about 2 years old and when my Halfords charger says it's fully charged the voltage is showing as 12.58.

My understanding is that this indicates a battery in a partially discharged state, the optimum being around 13.8

Anybody know the facts?
