Title: How much water?

I'm sure I've seen this question answered before but I can't find it in the search.

How much water would you use on average sized houses for 1st clean and subsequent cleans using wfp.

1) Terraced
2) Semi-Detached
3) Detached
4) Bungalows

Now you may not think it but you actually use more water on a bungalow and they are more awkward to clean than a standard 3 bed semi, thats what i find anyway, first cleans usually around 20 ltrs of water but thats if they are rotten.

might sound like a silly tip, but turn off the water when moving around to do other windows, u will be suprised how much water you waste  just standing there

do first cleans thouroughly with trad method,clean frames etc and you wont have any subsequent trouble.  you can sometimes find it is just as quick and you know that the result is spot on,not always so with wfp on initial cleans.

That would be alright on a bungalow but if you dont have ladders thats a non starter :)

In answer to the guys question id say around 15-20 litres depending how much you rinse and how big the windows on the house etc is.  I estimate that a 350 litre tank would clean around 10-15 houses before refilling.

why would you clean windows trad when you intend to clean with wfp

It's an unanswerable question.  Everyone's different, so some will use lots and some a little, and still achieve the same result.  I believe that our 400lt tanks are quite enough for a day's work, and none of the blokes ever complain of running out.

One tip to save on first cleans: spray the glass, turn the water off, scrub like billy-o then turn the water on again and rinse.  Repeat until clean.  If you have to scrub over and over to shift stubborn muck, the water that's running from your brush is wasted - provided you wet well to start the scrubbing will be just as effective as if you have a constant flow of water.
