How many of you just use the WFP with the DI resin filter on its own without using an RO? If you do it this way does that not mean your tank just fills alot quicker and you have to replace your resin more often? I myself went out and got the complete system, takes a while to fill up 350 litres(around 2-3 hours) but worth it in the end when the water in the tank before the DI is reading 2 on the TDS meter.

I use di only, my tap tds is about 92-98. takes 15 mins to fill my 175L tank and 4 25L barrels. I use about 4 bags of resin a year. I guess in the long run a ro would be cheaper, but the convenience of doing it di only makes it worth the extra for me.
Same tds here, I use 2 DI vessels, fill 400 ltr tank in approx 10-15 mins with tap water, purify on demand & only use 2 bags of resin per year. ;)

Surely doing it this way means you dont have the 100% pure water all the time? I would presume this method would leave spotting on the glass??

You guys are so lucky. My tap tds is 300. When i first started a bag of resin would last me about 20 hours. Wasnt long before i had an ro

I'm using 2 vessels too. I just looked again, and I have had 4 bags in 16 months and I have enough left for 1 more refill, so about the same. though my last lot of purolite resin was crap!!!
Dude, purolite is the pits!!!!! Dowex or tulsion my fellow yorkshire friend. ;)

Well when my RO membrane packs it in then maybe i will use the DI on its own :)

No, it means you don't waste any resin. No need to throw it away at 001/002 tds, just use this to pre-filter a new vessel. ;) the new resin is being fed almost pure water, keep the cycle going using the correct resin & it lasts much, much longer at 000tds.

Why would you not have pure all the time? As soon as mine gets to 10 the vessels get swapped and the spent resin is re-filled and used as the polisher.
If you RO and then polish you still have to keep an eye on the TDS.

understand this would work if you kept your eye on the ball, if not you would get spotting. Aw well ive made the jump now and have an RO so will keep using it.

As stated you have to keep checking the TDS with RO. In fact when I ran RO then DI I had more problems with high TDS.

Yeah, I know, but there is a supplier just near me that always has purolite in stock, so it is handy to just grab a bag when passing.
