Title: Belgian wilton
Post by: brianbarber on October 06, 2009, 08:32:00 pm
hi guys

think this may be a belgian wilton, fibre was polyprop, have advised possiblilty of shrinkage, although customer said been cleaned with HWE previously, and is happy to risk it.

As i have not seen the backing before, i am assuming this may be a belgian wilton.

Not easy to tell from that photo. But if it's polyprop onto a cotton backing then it can be cleaned with as little moisture as you can manage and ensure the thing is well and truely held down well by the grippers provided it is a one piece carpet. If it's a wooden floor then tacking it down will help too.
You'll get mixed opinions on here, some won't even go to view the carpet whilst some have got away with high temperature high pressure (somehow :o)

What makes you say this ?

providing you take precautions it shouldnt be a problem, I would hate to think the amount of money I have turned away by not cleaning polpy/pop , and if your really worried about it why not go down the l/m/bonnet or dry compound route.

I can understand your reply Trouble, but imo it is giving the impression that would frighten the living daylights out of any c/c .

Need a clearer picture of the backing to advise if its BW or not, even if it is dont be scared of it, make sure its secure then Nuke it with Ultrapac renovate and rinse, plenty of vaccum passes and an airmover. Simplez.
