Title: normal TDS readings
Post by: amberini on September 29, 2009, 08:51:29 pm
Hi all, i am new to WFP & have just set-up my kit... static RO & tank, feeding a 450l tank on the van,   my concern is that i have readings of 000 in the static & the van setup but when i take a sample of water from the brush or the end of the hose it comes out at 003?    now i know this is probably nothing to worry about but i was just wandering if this is the norm??

all my kit is brand new facelift RO & tanks,   and gardiners for everything else.

if it is new stuff it will clean itself out within an hour , 003 will be fine, the water in your tank is important.

i'd imagine it's just dirt paricles coming off bristles.

or as window washers says it will clear after running a while.

WHEn i check water in one of my barrels sometimes it jumps up, i use tds lid to hold a bit of water then dip metre in you must wait about 1 min to let tds reading stabilize and let metre get use to water temp.

The reason reading was jumping up was as i use tds lid to scoop a bit of water out of barrel my finger was going in ;D

when you first start you are ultra paranoid about tds readings i let mine go to 002 then change resin after a while you get use to your system and get less paranoid.
