Title: Hot v cold
Post by: pingu on September 29, 2009, 05:01:43 pm
Hi...I have in the back of my mind that I would like a hot system...now this is a question for those who have/do run hot systems...I am sorry to offend but I am not intrested in opinions of those who do not or have not run these systems.

What does hot really achieve over and above cold?

Cheers
Dave.

Keeps my hands warm :)
Makes the hose MUCH easier to work with
Melts away bird much and spider spots a lot faster
Impresses the custies on cold days when they see the steam rising off the glass

The biggest advantages are on less frequent work,.. if your round id fortnightly then it won't make a huge difference to your speed of working.

I am 8 weekly and have very few 4 weekly...so my work might be ideal for hot...

So would you say you are faster than when working cold?

I have been looking at the Varitech hot - retro-fit but the justification for spending 2,5k + shipping + running costs makes me shudder.

Cheers
Dave.

A little faster,.. I won't make any huge claims about doing an extra 10 houses a day or anything,.. but its windows with bird much where you notice the difference in speed.

i would also say its a little faster, especially in the summer with the bee/pollen spots and baked on bird poo.

Thanks for the replies so far....

So other than having warm hands/pole and the bird poo coming off easier....would you spend 2,5k for the benifits that hot gives you? and why? sorry to post such direct questions.

Cheers
Dave.

i couldnt justify spending 2.5k, thats why i got the l5, about a year ago now, for about £100.

Problem is with the L5 (a LPG tankless water heater) that unless its installed properly it will invalidate your insurance if there was a problem.
