Title: pump problem
Post by: MSTAV on September 29, 2009, 01:34:16 pm
i have a 100 psi shurflo pump on the freedom trolley but it keeps cutting out. I have no idea on how to fix this problem , I know its to do with the black connector section at the bottom of pump with the 2 cables, as to get it working again i wiggle about with it then its  ok for about 30 seconds then cuts out again.  is it new pump time or is this a common problem???. Was wondering if joining the 2 cables and bypassing the box section would work???

check the connections are not wet and causing a short circuit. check the fuse too if it has one?

Had this issue in my van a few weeks back.

before you go and spent £20 on that, you can get the switch from Maplins for a couple of quid and replace it yourself it is really simple to do, just need a phillips screwdriver.

I had this problem on friday, got a pump from purefreedom friday delivered fitted it monday, problem sorted.

For the price they are and the time it cost me to fix it and by pass the switch, they are cheaper to buy the whole thing. and by passing burnt out fuses, used more water drained battery etc etc etc...

Replacing the pressure switch could (I say Could as I had 2 old pumps and used the pressure switches) worked for a while and started playing up again.

Replace it IMO.
