What is the most successful for you?
Newspapers, Leaflets, Signwriting etc.
I am moving to Essex in a couple of weeks, I have placed an order for 25,000 leaflets and they are being delivered by royal mail and a private ditribution company, they are all being dropped within a 2 week timeline.
What percentage do you get from Leaflets, and how many customers would you say is acceptable from 25,000 leaflets?

Where abouts in essex are you moving to ?
I have a good leaflet distributors who are fairly cheap...and they deliver stand alone or multiples.
-
Had 25,000 leaflets printed at the beginning of the year but delivered them myself over a 8 month period :'( picked up £875 worth of monthly work - £630 every month and another £490 of 2 monthly work split between each month)
-
how much for 25,000 leaflets roughly?? sound like a good return that
-
Lyndy I'm hoping to have a guy settled in before then, so I'll have a round up here in Leicester and one down in essex.
I'm moving to Burnham on Crouch near South Woodham Ferrers.
25,000 leaflets are £200 no V.A.T. as they are exempt.
I also clean Guttering, fascias and soffits, conservatory roofs, driveways and patios, which are all advertised on the leaflets.
I'm hoping to get at least £2,000 from the 25,000 leaflets.
-
Welsh windows I'm having them delivered the week I move down their, 2 weeks time.
So hopefully business will be busy as soon as I'm down there. lol
I currently have 26 customers down in essex, which I picked up in the past couple of months.

hi mb windows, could you give me alink to the leaflets people as that seem a good deal i just got quoted 750 for 5000 and think i prefer your deal lol
-
Daz google 1-2 print.
My Mrs called them and got a better deal over the phone, I think its because we are looking at 25,000 per month.
but even the prices on the website are a lot better than the price you are looking at.
-
does anyone know roughly how many customers you should get from 25,000 leaflets?

does anyone know roughly how many customers you should get from 25,000 leaflets?
my customer take up from flyers is about 4% hand delivered by me.
-
does anyone know roughly how many customers you should get from 25,000 leaflets?
i'm in essex as well and i think you should get about 60-75 new customers, hopefully most of them regulars but also a lot of one off jobs as you do a lot of additional services.you should easily recover your investment in the first month
-
MMM 4% from 25,000 think I'll be laughing all the way to the bank. yippeeee.
I bloody hope so GWCS.
that will be 1,000 customers.
I'm having 25,000 delivered in a 2 week period, 15,000 first week and 10,000 in the following week.
is this workable or would I be struggling to cope?

CO I am hoping to get 2k from the leaflets is this being optamistic?
-
i think u should be able to get this money maybe more, but i think that are to many leaflets to be delivered in 2 weeks you might struggle if you are a one man band, thinking that you all ready have a round
-
CO I will be having a guy work the round in Leicester.
My girlfriend and I will be working in Essex on that round.
I am thinking (more hoping) that I will get approx. 100 window cleaning customers, and 10-15 patio or driveway jobs and 10-15 gutter jobs from the 25,000. that wouldn't even be 1% return.

i hope you the best of luck .those numbers are realistic i think and u should be able to get a bit more than 2k.100 w.c customers you are looking at £1000-1500
10-15 patios about £1500
10-15 gutters £600-1000
so that's about 3k-4k but, also depends on the area .the competition is tough this days ,and you are quite new in the area but seem that you and your girlfriend are a good team and i think you would do very well

As I will be based in Burnham on Crouch, we will be targetting, South Woodham, Maldon, Southminster, Mayland etc.
and second batch of 25,000 will be Chelmsford, Braintree, Brentwood etc.
-
I am already in the Chelmsford yellow pages.
-
Going back to your original point, Local paper has been good for me I've advertised for about 4 weeks and picked up a dozen jobs, the ads will be more than paid for after the first clean.
also the van brings in enquiries most weeks.
and something else that has worked- laminate a few flyers and get them put up in corner shops, the chippie and that sort of thing ;)
-
What company are you using to distribute the leaflets ? I've been quoted £44 per 1000(minimum quantity of 10,000) by this lot www.dbslimited.co.uk (http://www.dbslimited.co.uk)
they look ok, they sent me a power point presentation attachment via e-mail, but as I know nothing about how these companys operate I'm easily impresed ???
-
Letterbox, they charge £30 per 1,000 plus V.A.T.
But I'm also using royal mail at a reduced rate of £27 per 1,000

going back to response rate of leaflets, i find 1%-2%.
best results have always been when i have leaflted myself.
I understand MB why you are doing it this way and am sure you will do well, good luck!
Reading a post from Ian lancaster, he leaflet drops himself and follows up knocking a couple of days later, leaflets have wfp explanation already on. (can get 10% this way)
I have used distributation companies and the real downfall is they put leaflets through houses i wouldn't look twice at, and i ended up running round like a blu ar5e fly; pricing.
MB will you have list of streets leafleted as you could knock saying did you get my recent flyer, and if potential custy is intrested you can price there and then, could help speed up and buid a more compact round.
I must admit i am a cowardy custard when it comes to door knocking but i have often thought if i did move out a bit to get bigger(cheaper property) i woul take above approach.
Good luck ;)
