Hi guys,
Do many of you clean any showrooms?
Im quoting for 2 on monday on a fortnightly basis,
What invoicing period do you allow?
Thanks in advance,
Dean

I allow 28 days on commercial work.
-
Cant you stretch to 30 ;) ;) ;D ;D
-
You have to allow them 28 days to pay,on some i simply go into the companys accounts dept and get paid there and then if the right people are there sign the cheques.
-
Fair enough NWH,
Ive always allowed 30 days even on the lidls that were weekly but are now fortnightly, they got a fair bit behind though until they went fortnightly,
I was just wondering about the showrooms as ive heard that some go for a 60 dayer which is very dodgy in todays climate,

A few contractors in construction are opting for 60 dayers

Its bad news though wouldnt you agree?

To be honest mate i would look to take on long term work at the moment ie large domestics etc, showrooms and the like at the moment arn`t worth bothering with IMO there not reliable enough here today gone tommorow. In this climate i would never put my bread and butter off for any commercial work no matter what it was worth,if it`s not looking to be long term what`s the point all the little coggs make the big wheel turn and all that.

yh - we are staying with 28 on our builds but its a trickling affect - the subbys have to wait for cash which affects the workforce and so on - Just creates even worse cashflow in a bad climate
-
it's money at the end of the day mate you go for it , work always leads to other work as we ll know i am cleaning an empty shop front for a custy until a new tenancy is taken up it wont last long i know but its £15 for 30 min work

I used to clean a few car showrooms. They got hit hard by the recession and getting paid became a nightmare. I'd really advise avoiding them unless its a cash on completion deal.

i do a boat showroom . was a regular job monthly but its dropped to a 2 monthly . if drops any farther im going to walk away from it . end of boat seasons around the corner

Over here in the states the car dealerships have been very unreliable lately.
Used to do over 20 dealership buildings. Now we do 10. I fax them an invoice and they mail payment within 2-4 weeks.
Had one that took me 3 months to collect from; so we do not do them anymore.
Thankfully, things have held together pretty nicely in Central TX because of being so close to Fort Hod and many large hospitals, factories, etc.
But it has been challenging. Definately different from 5 years ago. It is getting better now. ;D
Cheers,
