I have 2 bottom sections of our SL stuck together. Ive tried the rubber gloves, Ive tried the heat gun and Ive tried the boiling water but they wont budge.
One of the sections belongs to another window cleaner and one belongs to us, I had to borrow the one section to get higher. >:(
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance Colin

How about this method.
3 people, 1 at either end of the pole, 1 in the middle at the joint. The 2 pull and twist in opposite directions, the 1 in the middle moves the pole in a circular motion like a skipping rope.

Are you saying that worked Matt?

When twisting it has to be twisted clockwise with 2 people holding each pole near the centre where they meet.
Trying to twist the other way is really hard.
Also, twisting while holding the poles at each end is more likely to damage the pole. You want all the streess to be at the join. I split my no1 section by holding it at the end. Big mistake.

Cheers Mark,
we were twisting "anticlockwise" so will also try your method tomorrow.
Any other ideas welcome guys.

yeah twist clockwise as per the manual,
by twisting anti-clockwise your actually tightening it up!

Rubber gloves - don't squeeze the pole any harder than absolutely nessesary 'cos you'll squeeze the tube oval which will stop it sliding anyway. Hold close to the joint and turn clockwise. Rubber gloves easy peasy!

Thanks to all for the advice , I spayed with WD40 yesterday, turned the poles clockwise this morning and bingo, they popped out like an African baby.
