Having a frame made today to subnount freshwater tank, problem is the waste tank will have to remain on the floor level.
The blower will be on a level with the waste tank inlet, will this cause any problems ?
Also the blower is connected to waste with a 2 1/2" vac hose, so i will need a new one, only ones i have found are full 15m lengths

Couldn’t you have the frame made bigger and sit the waste on it would also give you more water (well that what I done) ;)

I had a Sidekick with a sub mount tank, and the waste tank was mounted on top at the back. The 2.5 inch blower hose will ahve to be of heavy duty rather than the normal vac hose. I know the one on mine was very heavy duty and inflexible. As for the the blower position I cant see that making any difference, as the blower inlet and waste water inlet on the tank will remain the same.

Hi Len, van is a hiace and roof curves at top, 2" higher and it would of been spot on >:(
Believe me i have jigged it everyway poss.
Putting my reel between bulkhead and machine, which dosnt help, wheel arches come into play too..
Should of bought a new Boxer ???

Andrew its tank truck hose you need. This also quietens the blower. These may be able to help:

Its your old machine Dave, as you will remember tank developed a leak with last owner,
am submounting on a new plastic tank, would mount waste ontop too but wont go, am 2" short all round,
recal the missus saying something similar. :D

Mines a Vito mk1 just enough room to lift the lid and get the blower filter out. >:(

That leak could easily be fixed with the tank removed. It must have been disturbed during the cross removal/installation and if most probably just along one of the welds. By the way when I had it, it was fitted into my Citroen Dispatch, not much head room above the tank but okay.

Bit late now Dave, gone and made myself a new frame to hold tank ....
Made it more compact, and utilises space better, foot print is 1.5m2 including reel, so lts of space now :)

Just remember to use a good oil and NOT the Briggs oil. Since I put a new engine in that TM I used fully Synthetic which gave it a quick fill and drain unlike normal oil. With the original engine the fill and drain was so sluggish, when I did an oil change it was difficult to get the oil in after waiting forever for it to drain. The level was also get right, consequently I let it get too low and it knacked on me. When I removed the engine the oil in the sump was thick like treacle.
Using fully synth I had none of those problems and it ran better. Good luck.

Nearly there Tony, i started by taking out ply lining and putting new back in, with 1" of quintherm insulation behind it and under the floor. Just thinking ahead for cold weather, too many expensive fittings !!
Need to drill into the tank for fill fitting, holes to drill into frame for mounting, and a hose to replace from blower to waste tank. Then off to my mates to lift it all into place with stacker ..
Hose reel to finish rubbing down and paint, then bolt everything thru chassis, oh and waste outlet to move, will tuck nicely under curve of bulkhead on floor.
Now thinking have i missed something ::)
Cleaned 15 kitchen floors earlier in week with spinner attached, was a nice little earner, almost paid for itself :)

Now have tank and frame bolted and lifted into van, reel behind bulkhead.
Looking at it i could also swap reel and machine around, anybody have a view on this,

Hi Andrew,
Its still looking good! I would leave it as it is. The clean water tank is obviously much higher than the sub mount originally fitted, and not much room above the TM, so just about all servicing will have to be done from the sides. As the reel is easily removed, I would leave it where it is for access to that side. There is also a lot to be said for a side mounted reel.

Cheers Dave, had thought about access to service repair etc, was just worried about the weight distribution, it still is just forward of the rear axle.
Alsoreel wont be rubbing against side door as much, thinking about mounting the sol reel onto wheel arch and feeding thru an eye to keep off door.
Got shelves to make tomorrow for chems and fuel tank, should still have room for portie when req and rotary and envirodri etc.
