Why not just go for new mate :)

I looked at that as well Richard but it went for £300 in the end.
Paul Ashworth (?) pointed me in the direction of Woodbidge who do one for £330 + VAT.

Richard B_F
Just clicked on your "world" icon to see your website and it goes to those that provided domain name or something.
-
Richard joes right with the web site ???
What van are you putting the reel in richard ???
Was thinking of one for myself new too as the hoses lose take so much room up and are always slipping in the van ;D
-
I've had a reel in the garage for over a month now and I'm in two minds whether to put it in the van.
I currently keep about 150ft in the van hung on bungees. For the average domestic I'm sure lifting these out is quicker than a reel and the other week I needed to put somthing bulky in the van and I just took the hose out, I couldn't have done that with a reel. :-\
-
Think your right mike ;D
They can be more of a pain then..Do the weight much ???
You said bulky items ;D your wallet by any chance ;D Know what you country gents are like lol
-
Mike
Thats why I dont have a reel - I use the bungees as you know. They do leave space under neath so I can slide my vac or Envirodri in on the floor but held upright by the hoses.
Clinton.
Its not his wallet thats bulky - £50 notes dont take up any more room than a £5 note, do they Mike.
-
I wish, this week was quiet for some reason, next week pretty good already though.
-
Joe
Wished i had helped the swap over nowwith you and mike ;D
Would have helped the count ;)
-
thanks forpointing that out about site joe website is fine dont think my site is connected to my profile.

I had the same problem Clinton... But Nick at solutions provided me with a massive black hose bag which is the business!
-
Mike if you want to let it go give me first refusal m8 remember who put you on to it 8) 8) 8) 8)
Cheers Tony
-
It's pretty handy for the rest of my hose so prob. won't let it go, but you would be first to hear if I did Tony. ;)
Also thinking ahead, bigger blower, bigger van, more space for reel. 8)
-
Don't be silly mike your feet want reach the pedles in a bigger van
-
Colin
That sounds good the large bags are hey on there site ??? cheers.
Dave ;D
-
Nice van Clinton, I'll save you a Phoenix for it before they all sell out!
And for good measure I'll through in a hose reel.
-
Dave :)
Cheers :)
I nicked your ideas to store gear on the rear van doors :)Very handy and gave me so much more space...
Its a nice size for me as i can also use the van if i ever want an upgrade.
-

In my early days in the Royal Navy I had to help a Petty Officer design and make something not too disimilar than that Derek ;D
We ended up float testing it in the Bay of Biscay..... Pile of sh............ ;D
-
Looks home made that Derek ;D

Why do some truckmounters not have a hose reel is it because of space one of the main reasons iam going to get a Prowler is iam fed up with hose bags and coiling up vac and solution hoses is it not easier to have them on a reel.
-
I reckon it's quicker without a reel if it's short distances and you have things sorted. If you carry a lot of hose and that's used frequently a reel is a necessity.
-
Not used a hose reel at all, but quiet happy coiling up.
Do the solution hose when its still hot and that makes life easier.
and if you buy very flexible suction hose, life becomes easier as well. But my supplier for that is the place a lot of you dont want to know about, so you loose out.
Mike O has 50' of the flexible suction hose and I reckon he finds a difference.
-
Hi Joe
Yes I use your old solutions stuff indoors, but with a whip as well. I have two different types of HM hose, one is horribly stiff and the other inbetween.
Coiled on bungies it's off the deck too and all comes out if I need to lug a sofa or something.
Solution hose as in pressure hose is coiled then is hung on a bicyle rack with foam tubes on the arms.
-
Well when i fitted my TM I only fitted vac hose reel big mistake going to fit solution hose reel soon as i get a min what a pain coiling them up.
Cheers Tony
-
Tony
You need to lay them out before you start coiling, then it's easy.
When you pick up a coil you just unravel it where you need it.
-
You got it Mike. Quite easy really.
-
Same here mike and makes life easier ;D
-
What other way is there is it not comon sense to lay them flat out first before you coil them in with a hose reel you wouldnt have to coil them would you and would this not save time.
-
Save time or not, Darren, I dont know cause not used a reel.
What I do get by hanging the hoses from the roof is floor space.
You might think you have a nice big van - then you start to fill it then you have stuff to carry, not all the time but some of the time, like the porty, of a rotary, and the envirodri etc etc
-
your right there joe ;D
Got 100 ft of hose in the rear of the van and another 2 x 25 foot that i have fixed to hang on the bulkhead saves more space ;D
-
I cleared out my van last week and got the measuring tape out its a swb traffic type it worked out i could get a prowler,400litre tank, hose reel, powerflight and still keep most of my shelving also room for a vac and some small things to and should be just under the weight limit but if i couldnt fit the hose reel in i was just going to wait and get a bigger van.To be honest iam not bothered about loosing space sick of friends and neighbours wanting favours done there was one last week double bed the guy wouldny pay the £25 delivery charge so he asked me to collect it pain in the arse.
-
Almost finished kitting out my Hiace, just needs a few shelve on the back right,
truckmount vac reel tanks, Recoil, envirodri, hoover wands . and hand tools and sprayers.
Still loads of space for rotary and dry steam machine for curtains etc
-
Love the shelves on the left - even with a little hole cut into it for your tools - very nifty ! (sorry a very female comment)!
-
A place for everything, and everything in its place. Maybe i was female in a former life (ssshhhiver) :)
do like a tidy van, yes CFR tools fit nicely in holes, really snug fit, dont bounce out.
-
It's coming along Andrew.
I think having a belly tank makes a big difference space wise. If you have the hieght, ie a good gap between the machine and the roof. Has anybody mentioned that to you as a potential problem Andrew?
-
Not heard of any probs Mike, however you got me thinking now.
Suppose there could be temp probs as hot air rises, however i will have all doors open and tailgate up, so plenty of cool northern air thru it should help.
Was there a prob you can see or that you have heard of.
Regards
Andrew
-
Looks good andrew :)
Il post some pics too as i have used the rear doors for storage ie my sebo do and hand tools etc :)
A bit like dave ingrhams set up :)
-
Thanks Clinton, yes Daves set up is the best i have seen.
Have placed one inch insulation under and behind new flooring etc, then fitted Altro flooring which goes up the sides slightly, then placed on the wheel arches, and then sealed all outer edges, so when i fill up and forget to turn off, all water runs out of back doors and washes van floor ;D
Andrew
-
A good idea as it will happen one day ;D
Nick all my ideas from mr dave ingram the carpet cleaning lord ;D
-
Andrew I don't think it's major, just reduce performance a bit maybe and ultimately life of engine. Dave Ingram was talking to me about it but I may have got it wrong as I can't understand the accent. ;D
If you have two side doors you're sorted anyway.
-
Looking good Andrew space well used nice one m8
Cheers Tony
-
I see quite a few pics of small vans kitted out with the 'Ingram treatment'. ;D
