I produce my water in a shed at the bottom of the garden. The water is then kept in a holding tank ready for me to fill the van up at the end of each working day.
When the winter arrives are my filters goinng to get damaged by the frost, and what can i do to protect them? I have a 4040 champ and two 20" pre filters and a 25L di in the van. The Mrs has alredy decided against them coming indoors at any time! This is my first winter on wfp, am i likely to face any other problems.

get a little oil heater ( 20 quid ), run a extension lead and set it the heater to frost protection

sounds good. what do use to fuel in and how much does it cost to run. does it hat the whole shed or do you have to place it directly under your filter housing?

Mine runs of parrifin the stuff u put in the ones you run in the house. i dont use mine every day just cold nights think it cost me say about tenner 20 quid of parrifin used all winter or even less probs.
Mines in garage in a big box, it would keep your shed above zero and it heats my box to about 16c if u leave it on 24.7 lol but over night it keeps it about 8 - 10 oc

As Matt said put a small heater in the garage under the RO ( mines in a box)and one in the van to stop it all freezing up at minus 8 degrees. I will also insulate and heat my IBC soon as it froze solid last year. Oh dont forget the waste pipe will freeze backwards into the RO so you may need to protect it or put it directly into the drain or bring it into the warmth of the garage when not in use.
Do all this work now while we still have some light and warmth, do not wait until its freezing and to cold to work.

My RO is under the carport in a polystyrene insulated ply box. I have power so I have a 40w tube heater under the RO in the box which I switch on if it is likely to get cold.
I also put a small oil filled rad in the back of the van near the pump.
