Which one do you guys like best?
-
looks good nat, bottom right for me
-
Looks good, can you put the text style from bottom right onto the middle left one?
The HIGHER SAFER CLEANER text I mean.
-
Bottom right..for me..just looks more pleasing .
Cheers
Dave.
-
right middle
-
Bottom right
-
Bottom right seems to be the winner so far,.... :)
-
think you need a pole nat but i say middle right
-
Err, how do you avoid falling out with Mr Touchy from Omnipole?
-
Err, how do you avoid falling out with Mr Touchy from Omnipole?
I'll let him use it too,.. for a very reasonable license fee! :)
-
i would remove the arrows from the V, just to clean it up, they make it look mesy and ruin the look.
-
Look really good. Middle left for me. Also like the arrows
-
Top left. :)
-
Err, how do you avoid falling out with Mr Touchy from Omnipole?
LMAO @ Mr Touchy, classic ;D ;D ;D
-
I should have started a poll!! To late now,.. I'll have to do a manual count once ppl stop commenting!!
The final logo will be made available to Guild members along with the Thermoshine & Aquashine logo's as part of the member benefits. :)
-
I like the middle right best.
Just to nitpick, i don't like the T's. They look like hammers which have no association with cleaning and look a bit cowboyish.
I think you have done really well with the guild and the logo's you are producing.
-
Err, how do you avoid falling out with Mr Touchy from Omnipole?
This issue will be dealt with by our legal advisors
Under EC law our trade names are protected across Europe
-
right middle nat, black font a bit bigger.
dont think it needs as many direction arrows, looks messy. IMO 8)
-
Good work Nat,, I like the bottom left, I agree that the arrows don't look great they make it a bit busy.
On the issue of "gutter vac" if omnipole do have the name copyrighted is it ethical to use it?
I wouldnt be happy if someone stole my name, mind you so far no one has tried maybe thats because its a bit naff ;D

A bit harsh Glyn (as usual!)!
On the issue of "gutter vac" if omnipole do have the name copyrighted is it ethical to use it?
My personal view (Though Glyn doesn't seem to share it) is that this logo being used would bring the whole range of gutter vac machines to the forefront in more peoples minds and would actually result in more business for him as well,...
But if Glyn really wants to object then I'll happily change the wording. How about "Reach and Vac"?
-
I think shake and vac might be taken.....que the music
-
Nat,
How about 'Gutter Sucker'............it sounds better than 'Gutter Vac' anyway!
-
I'd prefer to stick with "Gutter Vac" to be honest. I've sent Glyn a nice e-mail to see if we can't work things out for everyone's benefit.

Why change the wording? Lots of companies try scare tactics regarding intellectual property.
Have you already asked him what exactly is his intellectual property?
Although I do respect other people’s intellectual property, the opposite of this is people or companies who try to falsely over enforce a particular IP for there benefit only.
I don't want to cause a big fuss on forum for all to see, and I really didn't mean for this thread to end up being a "Lets knock Glyn" thread.
I've e-mailed Glyn about this. Hopefully things can be worked out without any further fuss. How I proceed depends on his reply.
-
YOU TELL HIM TO CHILL.VAC AND ALL.THESE CHAPS ARE HIS POTENTIAL CUSTOMES OR HAS HE FORGOTTEN THIS VITAL FACT.
-
Use some imagination for once think up with your own name for your DIY gutter cleaning systems I do not give permission for the use of Omni Vac, GutterVac Gutter Vac or any other name that is associated with our products.
Nathanael's other choice in his email was "Gutter Hoover"
use that one as a logo and see how long it is before a High Court summons for "Trading off" appears on your door mat.
I cannot understand why many you do not see using other peoples IP such as photographs, names, logos etc. is theft in the eyes of the law.
-
I've just Googled "Gutter Vac" and it seems that MANY MANY people are using the term freely,...
You may be in the same position as Hoover Glyn,.. too little too late to keep the phrase to yourself?

thats funny aswell
-
Just searched here:
http://www.ipo.gov.uk/
and here:
http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/cntc
Found no trademark/ trade name/ IP registration,.....
-
So what trading names do you use that in your opinion no-one else has any right to use?
What about OMNIPOLE?
That is a serious question Glyn, as Omnipole Uk is dissolved, therefore its up for grabs, someone on here could take that, then you'd be up the creek with just a gutter-vac to paddle with ;D

The total lack of understanding and ignorance regarding Company registration,Company names, Company law, Intelectual property, trade marks, patents of this site is astounding.
" Benny Hill"
Glyn if you managed somehow to wangle a high court summons to land on someones doormat then you'd be the one laughed out of court by the judge.
That statement illustrates you obviously either have NO experience of how the courts in this country work, or have forgotten how they work, or are trying to bull$h!t or are just ignorant of the whole procedure
This refers to the sugestion by Nathanael Jones that you can use the term Gutter Hoover and you all honestly believe that Hoover will allow you to do this without taking action.

As their are over 500 GutterVac users in the UK alone its no suprise that the term is found on websites.
Yet more misinformation from Benny Hill
That is a serious question Glyn, as Omnipole Uk is dissolved, therefore its up for grabs
Omnipole Systems Ltd owns all the rights, intelectual property, trade names, patents, goodwill of Omnipole (UK) Ltd
So whether Omnipole (UK) Ltd is trading or disolved makes not a jot of difference.
Whilst you are all playing at being legal experts I suggest you look up "trading off Action" and take note of the penalties.

I don't think it was very respectfull calling someone mr touchy, i'm a guild member, but as far as i know glyn has never had a go at us. Why goad him just for the sake of it?
I thought the guild was above all the silly CIU personal attack stuff. It's one thing to copy and DIY his concept, but to ridicule him and nick his name (if gutter vac is his) is another.
Why make an enemy out of someone you don't need to?
-
slum he has ridiculed many on here and here is an example according to his lordship if your willing to do say a gutter ajob for £300 and some one would do it for £900 your not running a roper business????
i canfind the link to the post if needed.
he has a lack ofrespect for people and things he is above and better than mot.
me my self im dissapointed has i wanted a GUTTER VAC buthis attituide stinks
-
one firms called gutter vac ltd.
just googled it.
-
Haha, this thread is making me laugh.
I remember that post. For some housing association or something. But i saw it as promoting achievable prices. Which were much higher than mentioned.
I consider glyn premier league from a business perspective. I also think you are doing well ronnie.
But i'm a cautious type nowadays and expanding at rates you mentioned, would concern me very much unless it was residential work.
But i think you have your head screwed on and could achieve what you want out of something, that i would nowadays shy away from.
Glyn is blunt and refuses to justify his remarks, but now ionics have stopped posting on here, omnople is the new target. I'm glad he is thick skinned enough to stay around and say his piece. Cos when i'm not laughing at hiss posts, there are plenty of nuggets to be had for anyone wanting to improve their profitability.
;D
-
one firms called gutter vac ltd. just googled it
ooooo see if you can now guess whos equipment they use ???
Ronnie
If you want to charge £250.00 for cleaning the gutters of 10 houses and others are charging £560.00 for the same size job -------- More fool you!
-
dunt matter who's they use, they're a limited company. might be yours today. someone elses tomorrow, or their own.

Is their a translator on CIU?
In actual fact they use the name with our permission :)

This is the end of this discussion on CIU
NO You Cannot Use Our Product Name
If you do, then legal action may be taken for "Passing off"

Yeah, that's pretty clear. ;D
-
glyn your the fool your atitude will lose you customers fact...you might be doing well but ever bite the hand that feeds you.
if i was to do a job for £250 what others would do for 566 then thats fine also as long has im aking profit..
Now in general you wont know any one elses quote so you have to be competitive andthat is what i am without being cheap.
And if you want to come on here telling people they cant run a business because there cheaper than others more fool you!!!!! price fixing is illegal ;D
-
Its fairly simple if you leave out the personalities, if the name gutter vac is trade marked then it would be wrong to use it, if it is not protected then off you go.
-
The total lack of ignorance regarding Company registration,Company names, Company law, Intelectual property, trade marks, patents of this site is astounding.
A total LACK of ignorance? Doesn't that mean you think that people here know what they're on about?
;D ;D ;D ;D
(change it quick, you don't want people to think you're stupid when you're on your high horse do you!!!)
I too have done a search for the text "guttervac" and "gutter vac" etc at the www.ipo.gov.uk and nothing comes up.
I don't think you have this registered as a trademark at all.
Why don't you prove us all wrong and tell us what the trademark number is eh?
-
Bottom Right looks the dogs bits for me :D
-
Just read all the posts Please SCRAP my last post.
Its a pitty we CANT SEEM TO GET ALONG ON HERE, there always seems to be some RICHARD that wants to F it up >:(

Sorry guys,.. this thread was never meant to end up this way. I personally didn't mean it to turn an attack on Glyn or Omnipole, and in my official position as a member of the Guild admin team I'd like to ask our members to please refrain from further contributing to the issue.
On Glyn's comment of "Trading Off",.. the Guild is a non-profit organisation,.. the logo/branding proposed would not bring us any financial benefit, so I'm doubtful that any of the penalties you threaten would be enforced past an absolute minimum level should the issue have continued to the point of court action.
My aim in this whole venture was to create a brand for the service, not a particular machine or manufacturer,... but I'm convinced that this brand would have indirectly benefited all suppliers of this equipment as its profile was raised. I will think on how this project can continue perhaps with slightly different wording that won't upset anyone.
My final comment before I lock this thread is that I did e-mail Glyn early in this discussion (using the e-mail in his profile) and very politely asked could we discuss this off forum,.. I even gave my mobile number. I've yet to receive the courtesy of a reply.
