Did 2 Dralon armchairs on Friday, prochem fabric restorer, light aggitation fine mist acid rinse.... the water was tepid by the time I was applying it to the upholstery. I then used a micro fibre cloth to brush the fibres in the same direction..... Job's a fish!!!!

can't really add much to Colin's response except just be sure it is acrylic & wet cleanable, simple test back of the cushion, look for matting or pile distortion.

Acid rinse using machine and upholstery tool with
just warm water will do the trick then.
At about 200psi then groom??

130-150 psi will be suffice John, Make sure you check it is synthetic first and check for pile distortion, i would use PSG or fabric restorer and rinse with FF rinse.

I always aim to use 80psi as I find it more than adequate, but it's a personal choice! The way I see it is you only need to be clening a very thin layer of material and if you can avoid wetting the foam as much as possible, drying times will be a whole lot quicker! Backed up of course with an air mover!

Shaun     April 2007. Did the training in 1997.
Cheers guys for the replies just nice to get a bit of reassurance.
Normally just go in and clean but this customer made a point of
telling me it's Draylon.

The customer shouldn't have to tell you it's Dralon, you should know.

Glynn, I'm guessing that the conversation John had was over the phone.... In which case, how could he possibly know?

Even so, to ask how to clean Dralon.
Just what did they teach on that course ?.
In 1997 Dralon was hugely popular. Every professional carpet/upholstery cleaner should know how to clean Dralon.

To us old timers Dralon can be identified at a thousand paces but to some of these new guy's they are far and few these days not like when we started Glynn nearly every house had a dralon suite.

So i can sympathize with these new starters who confuse Chanelle with Dralon

Obviously he hasn't come accross Draylon a lot and maybe in the in the back of his head he's thinking "Velvet, Chenille?"! I've only cleaned 2 Draylon arm chairs in 15 months....

I always thought the whole point of this forum was for asking if unsure, at least he's asking and not just diving in willy nilly like a cowboy would!

It just bugs me when someone comes on to ask a genuine question and they get shot down in flames! There's really no need!

I see a lot because it's Grannyville round here. I think where you live has some bearing on the frequency you see them.
