I've just got a 25L DI vessel and a bag of resin. My water from the tap is at 30ppm. How full do I fill my Di tank? :-[

Fill it pretty close to the top tapping the vessel on the ground periodically to compact the resin. Then, when you have done that, buy another vessel and bag of resin and do the same again. Link them in series. When the TDS in the first vessel eventually equals the tap TDS, empty vessel one and put fresh resin into it and put vessel two as vessel one so that the freshest or least used resin is always in vessel one after a change around. That will save you from throwing resin away when it has some life left in it.

put most of the resin in but not all of it, leave a gap of a few inches at the top, i fill to the part where it starts to narrow from its widest diameter at the top of the vessel.
also i find after a few days of use it has settled to an even lower level, then i top up with a bit more. it wont make much difference with 30ppm :D

then put the riser tube back in and twist till it goes to the bottom, it can be tricky to screw it back on correctly, so be patient and dont strip or damage the head

Top the vessel up with water before you try to put the riser tube and screens back in the resin. Wash the threads off inside the vessel too.
