I'm sick of insurance companys
I'm sick of royal mail
I'm sick of my posty
I'm sick of my insurance company
I'm sick of the dvla
I'm sick of not being stuck
I'm sick of having to use the bus
On the upside my business feels like a little child who has found the christmas present stash before they got wrapped.
Rant over & I feel better :)

Let me get this right, forgive me if i'm wrong. :P
From your post i am guessing you are waiting for a cover note,
so you can get taxed.
Why don't you sort you tax online, you don't need a cover note to do this.
If that does not work(it sometimes don't),
just get your insurance company to email you the cover note,
print it off and bobs your unckle.
-
thers note wrong with binmen :D :D ;)
-
You not sick of banks or automatic phone calls or call centres in asia where you cant understand a word their saying?
Oh yes how about the government?
Your football team?
The list is endless lol
-
The binmen are great and always on time (early)
Yes waiting for a cover note since it got sent 1st class on saturday, got a fax of it but post office won't accept it cos the dvla have told them they have to see originals unless they get a special fax from dvla incase of strike action.
10 days behind, will be 11 tomorrow and I'm sick of being stuck at home

The earlier poster is right once you are insured, you can apply for tax online even without having the paperwork.
They know if you are insured or not, and you can print off a receipt to show the old bill should you get tugged.
It's a service I have used being the forgetful type ::)

i tax my van over the phone much easyer now before i could never find a cover note'
-
why dont u just drive your van with no tax on it? i've done it a few times, its only a slap on the wrist if you get pulled by the filth 60 quid fixed penalty fine.
if you buy your tax online you can legally drive without the disc in the window for a few days

I,m sick of cavity wall insulation salesmen.........god bless em >:(

I got pulled over last month cos the pc thought i was overloaded. He also noticed 1 of my back tyres was low. He escorted me to a weighbridge and checked my weight. The van was under.
He then told me to park up on the road opposite and he will deal with me for the back tyre pressure.
He gave me a fixed penalty.
The pressure was 19psi and should have been 32.
I acknowledge that it was dangerous, but we were 200 metres away from a garage and he had the power of discretion if he wanted to use it.
But what really peed me off was that he checked all my documents over the radio. What type of insurance do i have, etc. And i still got a producer.
My rant is that it has since made me feel vulnerable going out in the van. I check my pressures daily now. So maybe he saved a life.

You forgot the yell.com sales people.
They are so persistent, I was wondering if they get recruited from debt collection agencies.

I drove around with a printout of the email stuck next to the tax disc for a few days. No idea of the legality of it but it would be a pretty harsh copper to report it when the evidence of payment is in front of him.
-
I can't register it online or ring because the insurance company havent updated the system yet.
If caught without a tax disc they can tow away & crush your vehicle and slap you with a £2k fine
Looked into that one already
-
its not the police job to do people for no car tax all they can do is report you to the dvla, they can not fine you, that is why they have them guys who want to be coppers driving round in dvla vans clamping cars, as long as it is only a fw days out of tax and you get it back taxed you should be ok, providing that the log book dated of purchase is after the tax ran out
-
I just can't risk it. If I got caught I would have to pay back money borrowed still, sell my round and find a job (which wouldn't pay what I'm getting now).
