Title: Grumpy old men
Post by: Paul_Rolfe on September 09, 2009, 08:17:05 am
What is it with old men (70+) who feel they have to make a childish comment to do with, a) the price of the clean (only £14, btw), or b) saying that it was 'only two weeks ago you last came', when in fact it was six weeks, c) making silly comment about how you walk lop-sided because of 'all the money in your pocket', or d) 'joking' about doing the clean for free?

Aweigh anchor! (say in a Cornish accent)

Not come across one myself. I have only got one male customer over 70 (he's 92) and he only just stopped cleaning his windows about 9 months ago (I remember seeing him once up the ladder before I started).

He's well happy with my work, says I do it as good as him. He asked if I knew anyone who cleared gutters as his was blocked. I didn't, but I told him I could show himby attatching my phone to the pole and recording. Off I went, recorded and we played it. He was impressed and very thankfull. Turns out his gutters were spotless and on closer inspection it was snail trails going right up the house that he thought were water marks.

After that I now clean his daughters house and his grandsons :)

There not all grumpy

I lost a fleece a couple of years back and couldnt figure out where i lost it.

Went collecting one night and saw the old get whose windows i cleaned, wearing it.

yeh, he,s found a coat in his garden and kept it........... the old git, mind it smelt a bit and had a distictive white gloss paint mark on the back so i never asked for it back

It probably smells a whole lot more now though! ;D

Oooh i'm being a bit ageist tonight, i like it :D
