Guys is it just me or are there loads of machines for sale on ebay compared to normal. Some with no or nearly no use.Regards Alan
-
I always feel compelled to ask the seller why they are selling! But I'm a proper nosey bugger ;D
-
Probably a lot purchased with redundancy pay, then finding out its a lot harder work, and more technical than they thought.

I've seen an Alltec Advance on ebay, 1 year old with 40 hours only! That's obviously why this guy's selling up!
-
"i'll charge £10 a carpet, and if i can clean a carpet in 20 mins thats 3 carpets an hour, so thats err err errr £30 and hour, x by 8 hours a day thats err err (wheres me calculator), £240 a day, x by 5 days thats £1200 a week. advertising will be £15 a week in my local paper and 100 leaflets a day, that ought to do it till i get started and people start talking about how great my ruggy is. oh, i nearly forgot, petrol, £5 a week, theres loads of houses in my home town so i won't need to travel far"
and thats how most of them start up.
un (fckin) believable

or maybe we're just selling to upgrade ;)

Mark, that isn't you selling the Rug Doctor is it? Upgrading to a mop and bucket ;D ;D ;D
-
" Mop and Bucket" not yet ! Dri-tech for me all the way!!!

Call me an old sceptic, but it's unreal the amount of people who are selling due to illness.Carpet cleaning must be pretty bad for your health! :o

Perhaps they made so much money, they all have bad backs carrying all that money around ;D

I have a mate who's had more operations than Evil Knievil, he's been carpet cleaning since late 1980's ???
Makes you wonder!
-
The thing is you have to work smart. I still know people who hump their machine upstairs instead of leaving it in the hall or outside and using extension hoses. Then again if its only got one vac their snookered.
Let the chemicals and equipment do the work instead of scrubbing away at the carpet with the wand. This is what knacks you up. As Derek says "the machine is only for rinsing".
-
Absolutey right John. I must say, when I worked for the same guy, we were given 7.5m hose only and did indeed have to hump the machine around and up stairs in some 3 storey homes. Also, the tactic we were shown for getting the machines on and off the van were rather a**e about face ;D
-
I also agree. I've been 20 years at this and let the gear do the work. I'm 51 and feel like a 20 year old...........................
but I can't catch one!
Boom boom ;D :D

Just had an e mail from Rainbow internatnional, selling off some ninja`s and some spotters ?

I'm in a bad way at the moment.
A sprained ankle, a bad back and tendinitis in my forearm. Only the ankle was CC related trying not to tread on a drying rug. Other two sport related. ::)
