whats the best pole for gutter cleaning i really find this hard work with my gxtel pole with both the weight and the bending of the pole, thinking of getting a pole just for these jobs and maybe a hi -lo sill brush to go with it thinking this type of brush would be better suited to gutter cleaning so like i say what pole do you guys use for fascia and gutter cleaning? :P :P :P :P :P ???

hibrebed 24 ft

A lightweght brush like the superlight from gardiners.
A sill brush is around 550g
i use a vikan oval which is about 400g
the superlight is about 240g
The lighter the brush, the easyer it will be on your body. I ache after a 3bed semi something rotten. Am investing in some superlight brushes this week.

The brush I use is below. Here it's shown ready for doing a bungalow.
Stick the same brush on a Harris pole, and away you go. You really don't need to spend a fortune on a fancy brush for gutters. You need a thin brush like this to get up behind the gutter and into the brackets. A regular wfp brush just doesn't do that.

i think you cant really go wrong with a harris pole with converted
brush heads. i do these jobs all the time and it does great for me.

Gemma I have started using a pressure washer for fascias and siffits and the outsides of guttering now. so much easier and a lot quicker too.
-
do you use a telescopic lance, was looking at getting one from northern tool ,what type of pressure washer do you use, dont want to spend a fortune ?
-
I use a 5.5BHP 4 stroke petrol pressure washer 2200psi £195 off ebay.
Craig at polarbright sells 24ft lances, they are converted WFP I think with a trigger.
I use to clean the fascia and Soffits with my gxtel WFP but when you have to fully extend the pole over a conservatory its very hard work.

I use the lance and just like anything else there is a knack to it but I wouldn't swap it for a brush, Like Matt said it is so much quicker, I can do a 3 bed semi in half an hour but the first one I did took me almost 2 hours.
If you plan to do just the odd few houses then you only need to look at northerntools pressure washers but don't go for the very cheapest one they have get the one with the jets supplied on the PW the supplied ones come with the low pressure detergent jet and if you plan to clean the insides of the guttering as well the get the gutter cleaner attachment
