Title: Does anyone clean static caravans?
Post by: geefree on August 31, 2009, 03:24:50 pm
I know its the end of the season, but just returned from a couple of days away in a static, and they are all dirty close up.

Does anyone clean them using pure water?, how much also, do you charge.

Thanks.

ive got a round on a "park home site" some statics on there i charge fiver a fortnight they dont take long
until last year we owned a static caravan on a static site and we foiund that most people cleaned there own
you will probably find the dirty windows will be on statics that the caravan site own themselves and they will clean them once a year

I agree - the statics owned by the sites are lucky if they even get an annual clean.  You might be lucky and get an owner who wants them done but my experience in Kent is that they don't want to spend the money.  Most of the vans have nets so the holiday makers aren't aware how dirty the windows are.

you probably could get a contract to clean them but with what little amount the parks want to and are willing to it just isnt worth it

i had a park to do would only pay £18 per van (all the van outside not roof) they charged thier customer £30 so made 12 off me every clean
customer booked it in with office i went in every friday and the gave me a list of at least 12 to do every week
now some owners looked after thier vans and it would take 15 mins but others were covered in green mould and would take about an hour
i did that for about four months general manager was looking to cut costs and asked carpet fitters joiners plumbers and myself to lower prices found some one to clean them for £10       crack on i said and never went back

we have to go up lancashire or wales for caravan parks which would be abit of travelling

You could start with the local gypsys

We got a static earlier this year and have cleaned it down a couple of times during the season (hoping someone may see and ask - well you can but try) - takes about 20 - 30 mins - we did note that there was a notice that someone cleans vans for £35 which would be worth it

caravan park owners are the greediest, most grabbing people I have ever met.
My daughter used to have a static in Barmouth. We stayed there one night camping on a slope.
They charged us £15 per person per night.
One guy used to make a living making wooden staging for the van owners, the park owners wouldn't let him on the site without a size-able cut.
Greedy,Grabbing chappies[I'm not allowed to swear] most of them.

i agree...went to primrose valley park for the weekend...my partners dads static,

we had to have a pass to go in anywhere..amusements, bars, ..everything..

now the owners have a pass...the rest have to pay £27 for a weekend pass

EACH!....
