Title: can someone explaine please
Post by: reflection on August 29, 2009, 11:55:22 am
hi might sound like a stupit question but nobody has ever explained to me i bought a two man ro system a while ago i know that when the water goes in it passes through the carbon and sediment filters then through the ro and into the tank then when it comes from the tank it passes through a final polishing tank witch i have to pass salt through every now and again to regenerate the beads or something. he told me ordinary dish washer salt will do is this true? how do i know when i will need a new ro or new polishing units? whats resin for? have never had any problems so far my water is always 000ppm my filters are the 10" ones do the bigger ones last much longer? im using 800lts a day how often should i be changing my filters and passing the salt through the polishing units ?

People are not here to sit around to answer your questions on command.

Wait a while (a bit longer than just over a hour!) - seeing as its a Saturday many people have lives to live rather than be answering questions which you should be able to answer yourself with some simple forward thinking research before hand - hell why dont you even ask the supplier of the product.

Why is it new guys to the industry expect to be told everything by others - why cant they research the info to start with like a professional rather than being told this is what you need, go and buy it and have no idea why or how to use..  maybe i should have researched my own questions before asking them  ::)

You only regenerate the Softening resin that softens the water before it goes through the pre filters,if you regenerate the Polishing resin with the salt it will kill it straight away, you need to change the pre filters every six months, maybe more often if you using 800 litres a day.

thanks slash as for gwcs who obviously thinks hes a bit of a god i never said i was new to the industry iv been cleaning windows for ten years and wfp now for 11 months got very little help off my supplier but have had no problems with how i have been running it in that time but a few things i was unsure of i thought i would ask as any answers i got off my supplier just didnt seem right iv been changing my filters after every third fill and wanted to hear from people that actually know what they are doing what they thought. its people like you that make people not want to ask questions because of your waste of time replys and correct me if im wrong but is asking a question on this forum not research i thought the whole point in these forums was to ask questions and get answers (research) so as to save time and money and help each other out so if you have nothing helpful to say dont waste my time by replying

Calm down reflection. I get impatient waiting for answers sometimes as well. What GWCS is trying to say is, if you use the search button at the top of the page and type in your key words, it speeds up getting the answer for you, as most questions have been answered more than once, so older posters tend to get a bit frustrated now and again with answering the same question over and over.

Also, there is an average of a 150 people online most days at any one time, although there are over 17 000 members. Sometimes you'll get an answer in 5 minutes and sometimes it can take hours, but you will get an answer. Some of us, including me, have got a short fuse some days, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Now where did I leave my UN peace medal? 8)
