Hi everybody,
Since ive had my new Alltec, the Scorpion is now surplus to requirements.
I am selling the machine only - it is the 300 psi model, the price is £1400
(no offers - I would rather keep it than accept less!)
I am also selling my all-room dryer - £100, and sebo duo £50 (needs new brushes)
I am based in staffordshire, approx 5 miles from alton towers
mobile no 07745452838
Thanks guys,
rob

How is the Alltec better than the scorpion?

Hi Robert.
Like for like how does the Alltec compare to your Scorpion. It would be interesting to have your thoughts on the two machines.
Cheers
Simon

Beat me to that one!

Alltec is heavier than the Scorpion but build quality is better and I like the heat option.

Probably the heat side of the option!
BUT! As has been explained before....... Heat is not such a factor!
Aask Joe!

Heat is a massive factor when cleaning carpets why mess about with look warm tap water when you can use hot water constantly at the wand i suppose its all down to how long you want to spend on a job if you can wait up to 20mins on dwell time i suppose it dosent matter.
-
I know that Darran, and you know that. But it has been argued that hot water needn't be used with todays chems (Micro Splitters)
Also, I was told that hot water running through a pump doesn't do the pump any good.....
These aren't my opinions, I whack the heat up every time and I'm happier when steam is present!
-
I no were your coming from now Colin.
-
You will find most heat exchange systems will be after the pump so there should not be any problems with hot water damaging the pump.
-
Scorpion no longer available, thanks.
Regards Rob.

Look carefully at the photo Robert put up showing the Scorpion and the Alltec.
See the shadow in the right hand tank of a hose.
There are actually 2 hoses, a suction and a return (which flows water back to the tank from the pump when not holding the trigger).
This feature is very useful.
Example: Say you rinse with palin water, but you may want to spray with a cleaning fluid. What you can do is pull the 2 hoses out, place them in a bucket filled with your spray fluid and either use thro your wand or just get a spray gun for about £80. Sure, you can use a Hydraforce but these cost about £180.
Example: you want to mount the machine in the van and have the benefit of having large clean water tank supply (save bucketing). Similar principle to above, put these two hoses into the larger tank and away you go. Pump the water from the large tank direct to the wand. Expensive auto-fill device not required.
I dont know of another machine that has this facility, but they may be out there.

I believe you can do the same thing with the airflex from cleansmart http://www.cleansmartsupplies.co.uk/acatalog/Airflex_Turbo.html They really do seem to have most things covered.

Yes Simon, you appear to be correct. Obviously Matt has done his homework and seen a worthwhile feature.
The 3 vac has no heat (in line is a option) but no one seems to comment on this.
Would not stop me buying one though - just use a reliable in-line heater.
-
I asked about this. It seems there is a socket on the machine to plug the heater into, so then there is only two plugs. The switch for the heater then turns off the other vac (like the alltec) Not sure how this would perform over 100 ft, then again I suppose it could be moved nearer the wand ???
-
I hope you not right in that the heater turns the vac off :o.
If I paid for 3 vacs I want them to work when I need them.
The Alltec works on the basis 3 vacs turns the heater off.
3 vacs AND a heater is the way.
Matt has incorporated some good points though, as you would expect from him.

I'll check as I do not want to mislead anyone. My fault either 3rd vac or heat with the heater plugged into the machine, but I assume the heater could also be used independently with a 3rd plug, as you would with a Scorpion 3 vacs + heat giving both options. I stand to be corrected of course.
