When you are just starting, you don't need much more than :-
Need a Window Cleaner ?
Ring xxxx xxxxxxxx
Door knock and put these small notes through the ones that are out.
Ask them if they have a window cleaner and if they say no, ask if they would like one. They will say how much do you charge - if your price is right - your in.
-
Canvass - dont do flyers - meet people face to face - evenings/weekends
pitch yourself positively and do a free demo there and then if need be.
be polite !! even to those who are rude at the door.

we are just starting up.god its hard work, door knock put your company any where and every where, some of the custys we have picked up have been looking for a wc for a long time and we just happen to put a card in there door.
hard work and a lot of luck

keep at it and dont get disheartened. If you are looking for fortnightly work look at the work on a monthly perspective ie. £5 a fortnight = £10 a month and ul soon get going
Dont concentrate on the income though when you starting off just make sure you have a good business model and that you business is out performing your competition that way work and profits will come with your success
One thing ive learned through business is that your motivation should be to be the best or to provide the best service as a business is run and led by profits will soon become uncompetitive and will not operate at its full potential
Good Luck

dont throw money at equipment you don't need, learn trad then do wfp, door knocking, flyers in shop windows ,should get you of to a good start.
best of luck ;D

thanks for all the advice gonna give it a good shot after bank holiday. :) all the best

keep costs low and when money does come in take out a small wage and build up capital in the business

Why wait till after the B/H ...????
Get knocking tomorrow!!! - well until the footie starts!
Been doing Trad for 18 months - just moved to WFP
Been knocking every evening for 3 weeks - increased custy's by 200% picking up 1 in 6 knocks at present.
makes for a long long day out a 8 am - cleaning, finish at 4 shave wash put on decent cloths and out i go back home 8 pm.
Good advise is spend as little as poss to start. - do a good job - my 1st cleans always take double time, but custy's love the effort
offer once per month or buget service every other month if it they are uming or erring.
good luck guys.

Good luck davie f, I'm going to be starting in a couple of weeks(just getting my ladders and roof bars next week). I'm slightly different position, you've been unlucky and lost your job, I'm still in a job that I hate so I'll be going out part time to start, one or two days a week to start with but if all goes well then w/c will be my chosing bussiness. :)
