I cleaned a Parker Knoll 3 piece today using Pro Chem Fabric Restorer with a Fib Fab acid rinse.... As soon as I started agitating the pre spray loads of foam appeared. The customer looked at me and I asked what he had used on it.... "Nothing, nothing at all!" Then there was a pause..... The look on my face must have said it all as he cracked under pressure "I used a rug Doctor on it not too long ago...... Sorry!"
His apology had me chuckling to myself all afternoon.... Suffice to say, I put a good glug of anti foam down the end of the upholstery tool and the job was a good un....

I love these...a chance to prove to the customer that we can 'read' the history of their carpets/upholstery. For all the right reasons it's also a chance to put them (customer) back in their place.
Me "Have these carpets been cleaned in any way before?"
Custy "No, never"
Ten minutes later
Me "Ok what's been used on them because the foam is horrendous and I'm risking damaging the machine"
Custy "Oh I might have used 1001 once or twice"
Me "right then I can now change how I attack this job"
And with that they disappear not to be seen again till payment time ;D
