Title: Most Powerful Snail?
Post by: Mike Osbourne on August 28, 2009, 12:58:21 pm
One of my airmovers is an Ashby 1.5hp and it blows away most other snails. But, it's not stackable and I was wondering if there was a stackable 1.5hp snail and ideally more powerful than that.

Also what are the pros and cons of snails against the room dryer models, I'm not so keen on these and was advised to steer clear but I can't remember why. ???

The concept of the whole room dryer is good.
The only grumble I have heard of them is that the wheels leave an imprint in the carpet. Easy to resolve that.
I got rid of mine purely because I easnt using it all that much, bit heavy and takes up too much room.
Now use a £40 18"/20" mover from Machine Mart. Good stuff for the price.

LoL You're gonna have to find something better than double sided sticky tape.

Yeah they are good. Got a Truvox as well, half the weight but woefully underpowered.

The whole room dryer is a good bit of kit.... Only downside is that it is cumbersome and a real barsteward to get up and down stairs!!

i have two contico ab810s,

the first time i put one "under" the carpet, the whole carpet lifted 2- 6 inches upward towards the heavens, the only thing holding it down was the furniture.when id finished, i had to move the furniture down one end and re-stretch the carpet back onto the gripper...id put the snail on the most powerful setting! - ONE THING ID SAY IS THE LOW SETTING, is very handy on the contico, 950 rpm, yet still a powerful machine...my friend has a karcher one which is a £100 cheaper than the contico...worth a look perhaps...
