Got to first job yesterday extended my slx and "snap"!
Its one of the first lot, so 18 months old!!! Before, the old fibre glass ones used to last me about 6 months.
So...i call gardiners, order the 30' slx, and 9.30 this morning its here!! Also with my free pen and carabina!!
Really cant fault these poles or the company, clamps look 100% better on the new ones, cant wait til teusday now to try it out...Happy days!! ;D

18 months i was hoping that they would last longer than that my old 18 ft £64 x-tell lasted me 12 months. Dave

Hi mick yes you are right money well spent i have the 25ft slx and 18ft slx and i to think they are fab but i also think if Alex put the x-tel clamps on i know that there would not be another pole to touch the slx. Dave ;) ;D ;D

whats to stop anyone buying the xtel clamps and fitting them on themselfs, if they fit the pole sections of course

They don't :) and Xtel will not sell just the clamps you have to buy them attached complete to a section - I think to prevent DIY'ers using them.

Would the collapsed length then increase with 'normal' clamps? You wouldn't want that.
Don't forget a full set of clamps for a thirty foot pole only cost what just over seven quid? Bargain i'd say.

you can buy universal clamps complete ;D i thought these poles if you stood or sat on them they would not crush, so how would a clamp crush it ::) clamps can be adjusted for tension

Correct - a set of X-Tel clamps takes up nearly 3x the length of a set of SL-X clamps, this effectively adds about 1ft in closed length to a 30ft pole.

Mines 18 months old + and still going strong as ever. One of the best investments ever.

will be sending mine back to be repaired, might even have the new clamps fitted to it!!! ;)

Have to say the new clamps are well worth the money. I have had the old slx clamps the xtel clamps on xtel poles and now the new slx clamps. They are as easy to use as the xtel they just go the other way right to left as opposed to down to up. And are a lot easier to adjust than any clamp. They have made the whole pole feel brand new.

I dont see why people dont like new slx clamps
I have tried ionics, facelift, xtel, brodex, harris probably them all
but only xtel comes close.
The new Super Max is amazing.
I dont use any other supplier now Gardiner is best.
