Anybody got one, is it any good? I'm looking at the 45ft pole but its gonna cost £626.75.
I need a really light pole but I would rather not spend so much on one.
Is there an alternative? But please no fishing poles
Cheers
Steve

the SL is based on fishing pole technology and design infact the mk1 was a maver fishing pole - so if you want a cheaper option then a fishing pole is the way to go.

I think you mean the sl-x or super-max(as the longer one is known). These are not fishing poles (modular) but telescopic.
They are worth every penny mate, the difference is unreal. The good thing about this pole is that although telescopic, it has removable sections. So, you might want it at 45ft for one job, then take some sections off & use it as a 25ft pole for the majority of your work. This way, you only have to use the sections that you actually need giving you a very versatile pole that will do all your work from ground floor to nearly 50ft yet not being stuck with a 45ft pole all the time!
What I did when I got a 45ft facelift three years ago (like you I didn't want to spend £900) was get a credit card (my first one ever) with a 12 month 0% rate for purchases & just paid it off within the 12 months. It was the best thing I ever did getting rid of my fiberglass poles for carbon- it's like dial up Vs fiber optic broadband!!!!! ;)

My Superlite (modular) is for sale, only used it 3 times, in pristine condition. It's the 40ft model, comes with everything, even optional extras. Give me an email if you are interested. :)
