Title: waterproof jackets?
Post by: ftp on August 21, 2009, 08:59:42 pm: I want a fairly short (valve on hip) bomber style, waterproof, fleece lined jacket like my Dickies ones I used to buy.
Except it has to last, unlike the Dickies ones which leak like a colander after a couple of months.
Suggestions please?

Normally wear this in the winter but hardly waterproof.

Post by: windowswashed on August 21, 2009, 09:14:57 pm: Strauss do a waterproof, windproof, breathable jacket (£55) and trousers for £50. Very thin, yet very warm in winter. Ideal for wfp. I only wear a Tee-shirt and these waterproofs in winter, (even when it's close to freezing) and don't feel the cold or get damp from sweat or rain anymore.

Post by: windowswashed on August 21, 2009, 09:41:13 pm: The waterproofs are stronger than they look. Unless you are fighting your way through a holly bush the waterproofs shouldn't tear just brushing past branches and bushes.

or the regatta dover did a job,fleece lined

Post by: stephen s on August 25, 2009, 05:14:27 pm: yep you cant fault Peter Storm gear from Millets, I bought a jacket and trousers from there for golf and use them for cleaning in the rain. they are breathable, light and most of all waterproof and comfy.
