Post by: Mr Sparkle on August 21, 2009, 07:03:12 pm
Hi guys i've been asked to do a job on a basic 4bed house cleaning all the upvc window frames and ledges only. Just the frames and ledges,
I've quoted £80 Is this about right as i've never done this sort of job before.

Higher.
This is classified as an additional service by window cleaners and charge more accordingly.
Can't get my head around why they wouldn't want the 'glass' doing as after you managed to rub a cloth across the glass it will need doing then.

It all depends on the state they're in and how long you reckon it'll take you to bring 'em up to new.  £80 for new looking frames and sills doesn't seem over-the-top to me.

Of course if it takes you just 45 minutes you might have to lurk around in the garden for an hour or 2 to justify the price ;D

Good luck.

If your doing just the frames and ledges on a four bedroom house it shouldnt take any longer than an hour even if they are minging.

Make sure it's just muck/algae/dirt on the frames/sills, if they are discoloured with years of fairy liquid suds they can gofrom grey to a lighter shade of pink. You'll never get these looking like new.

Be warned, the custie may just be trying it on to get away with not paying. >:(

spot clean a downstairs one for them to know what to expect :)

And throw in window clean, takes you an extra 10 secs while your at the window but will make all the difference to the job finish
