Would get a carpet cleaner in but make up can be a toughy :o

I,m Guessing from your name and the wording of your post that c/c cleaning is not your prime money earner!!
Have you cleaned any carpets before? if not I would suggest you call in a professional c/c , its not really much info to say a cream colour carpet, identification of the fibres and construction would be useful and the use of carpet shampoo alone would not in itself do the job, especially as from your post " i,m guessing here " you do not have an extraction machine.
Stain removal alone is a different ball game to carpet cleaning.
As for the head board , I am again having an educated guess here, it is likely to be a draylon or similar type fabric, I doubt it would be suede, again you require a professional for any chance of removal even then both items cannot be guaranteed to be completely free of the marks.
in my experience most make up does normally remove with out to much effort , ink can be a nightmare with one small spot literally covering a blotting towel .
Forgive me if i am reading your post wrong, if not heed my advise or you may be asking for more trouble than its worth.

thanks for your post no offence taken yes I'm leaning as i have said on my other post i have a puzzi 100 i know not the best but not a bad machine to learn on and its starting to make the money back so once it has paid for its self i will be getting some thing bigger and better i will needing all your advice again then Ive cleaned quite a few carpets nothing to big just small rooms and stairs and myself and customer have been happy with results i have removed a few stains with some spot a stain remover but yes I'm still learning and enjoy. Ive got nothing to lose with the head board as they are going to recover it any way so i did say i would give it a go, once again thanks for your post your good bunch off lads alway given help when needed

Hi,
You've got a couple of tricky issues there. Even for an experienced carpet & upholstery cleaner they could pose problems. I certainly wouldnt use any 'sticky stuff remover' even thought it MIGHT work. Unless you know what you're doing pass it on to someone that does.
There are loads of different spot & stain removers on the market suited to different situations, all can remove stains but also cause damage in the wrong hands. I'd honestly recommend you pass these jobs onto someone that knows what they're doing!
All the best,
Jason.

Thats a good point
Ive personally tried all the prochem spot removers etc.And even though the name doesnt give it justice it really is an excellent solvent, infact I contacted the manufacturers and purchased 25 litres of it. But as you say it is sensible to ask someone who knows what they are doing.PS.Always do a tiny test first especially on upholstery.

I am sure you having something interesting to tell us, but..........
Its hard work reading it with no full stops or commas.

yeah i know not very good with all full stops and stuff . . . . . . . . . . basically removed make up and stains off the carpet and cleaned the carpet which came up great . Now they want the office carpet cleaning ,and with it been a care home every time someone leaves they want me to clean the carpet in the bedroom so it ready for the next person. So i am really pleased with myself . ps i hope my post get beter,to school for me i think back !
