as above.general concensus? Heavy useage daily. Going to buy 2.
-
would of thought that there is nothing in it bought one from local auto spares shop for £50 75 ah works a treat
-
Buy the ones with the best guarantees because you'll be lucky if you get eighteen months out of them and buy the biggest you can afford.
-
They last longer if kept well charged as opposed to letting them run flat before charging.
I use 85 amp batteries as I find they are not too heavy to lift.
-
85ah never got past fifteen months for me - charged every night. Given up on them and now use a car battery - bigger and cheaper.
-
I have 3 85 amp batteries which I have had over 3 years. I have a split charge relay but also swap batteries every 1 or 2 days to charge depending on mileage and use.
Always carry a spare and always have one on charge at home. Currently they are all good.

Don't bother, get a couple of old batteries and a solar panel keeps my 2 batteries well topped up.

indeed
just pop along to a local garage and ask them, they will have them out the back, they have to pay to have them taken away, thus will only be too happy for you to take a few, grab a few as they are all not going to be good, but most are good enough for our uses ;)

your welcome, i have 1 battery that last me 2 days without charging, i also have a massive BMW battery thats huge and that would last days, it stays in he van and has a solar panel to charge it, works very well
they are free, and best of all in my eyes is that i am recycling old batteries that would end up shipped to India and stripped of the lead ( by some child ) and then dumped

Well I hope you have better weather than me Matt, I just got back from 2 weeks camping near Pwllheli, the weather was crap. Camping is great, but you need a bit of decent weather.

The problem with batterys is not which one you have but when you charge it. If a battery is used past about 75% its ability to take a charge is reduced. If this is continued every working day even if the battery is charged every day it will lose its ability to charge quickly.
The most suitable battery for waterfed pole use is a Deep Cycle battery. However we use a 110ah leisure battery. We run two pumps from this and I charge it every night and have no problems. Unfortunatly we found this all out after about 6 85ah leisure batteries between us.
