Had a lovely job.......Every month.....£50 to every 2 months, to receiving a cheque today with that note that we all dread, saying "Thankyou for you kind and courteous services, bla bla bla" Used to get a £50 tip at xmas too...... All gone now :( And she was a great lass. Her hubby was into doing up flats/houses etc and selling them on for a nice healthy profit, but i think he really has fallen on his jacksy over the last year or so. In all fairness she's been warning me for ages that it could all go belly up at any time. At last, it seems it has. Gutted, for them...........and yeh for me too. Sad when a job goes from a nice 'ealthy lil number to nowt.

Happens to us all matey, she'll be back when moneys better

Hope so mate, but it did sound pretty terminal. We'll see. End o the day,it's only one job. Still pickin newbies up. ;)

what I would do if I were you mate is contact them and thank them for their custom over the amount of time they have hired you and tell them not to hesitate to call you if and when the situation changes.
some good PR goes a long way and you never know in the next few months you just may get that call back.

you better hope the cheque doesnt bounce thou

They/she obviously don't value you engouh, mate.
Kiss 'em goodbye.

Not necessarily a case of that mate, from what pole2pole said it sounded like they were good custies that had just fallen on hard times. Window Cleaning is the sort of thing people cut back on at times like this and although it is a pain for us guys I would do the same thing in the customers situation.
