Hi,
I have been asked to quote for cleaning the communal areas of 2 small blocks of flats. This will involve just hoovering two flights of stairs on each block and the walkways that go with them.
How much would a rough price be per clean and how many times would they need to be cleaned (i.e once a week/2 weeks)
I presently clean the windows on the flats and was asked to put a quote in. The flats are 10 miles from my house so if its every week then it would be a problem.
Cheers

The frequency will depend on what they ask you to do.
The window cleaning is the difficult part for a lot of cleaners so the fact that you're a window cleaner already will make the job a breeze.

you could price by the hr maybe.

hi there
our minimum ideally at least weekly, as you are making hardwork for yourself if fortnightly or monthly, however if they havent got any money then they may have to do with the less frequent cleaning service.

Martin is right - I try to avoid fortnightly cleans as the residents never feel they are getting a good service as after five days (or less) the site begins to need cleaning again and if it is another 8/9 days then the place is more often dirty then clean.
That said we charge (london) anywhere from £12 to £20 per hour but have a minimum of £60 for a single visit.

All of my communal area cleans are fortnightly and I do not have a problem with them being too dirty when I return. There have been no complaints so far. But saying that, it would be what they are used to. If they are currently receiving weekly cleans then that is probably what you want to price for. Two stairwells is pretty small, I do have one that is that size and I charge 35 per month to go there fortnightly. It is on the way to another fortnightly clean and I also have the grounds maintenance and windows on the property otherwise I probably would not have considered it. So in total I make around 100 per month on it but considering the amount of hours it takes, I can not complain. I hope this helps.
Cheers
