Title: ANYONE ELSE WORKING SUNDAY ?
Post by: stephen s on August 15, 2009, 08:26:11 pm
I have 2 commercial jobs which have to be done first thing on a Sunday morning because both buildings are right in city centre locations and on double yellow lines with bus stops outside.

one is monthly and the other every 2 months which falls tomorrow so its a 05.30 start,  however because of the inconvenience I was able to get a really good price on both so don't really mind and I shall be finished by 11 am

anyone else working tomorrow ?

Personally I would hate someone knocking on my door on a Sunday,I'd tell them where to get off, leaflet dropping is completly different  but still would'nt do on Sundays, knocking on doors is taking the p!ss, Sunday is a day I like to spend with the family.

We look after the day to day cleaning requirements for a Plymouth night club and as they'll be open tonight we'll be working for a few hours tomorrow.

Just a few though.

And I most definately wouldn't clean domestic windows though :o

I'm surprised at the strong feelings on here about Sunday knocking. From a custies point of view you've only taken 30 seconds of their time, not ruined their life!

I never work a Sunday simply because I don't want to. However, if the price was right and a custy asked me to do a job on a Sunday due to traffic/parking/access then of course I would.

In fact thinking about it I did a school on a Sunday a couple of years back because I'd been on hols for the half term, came back on the Saturday and only had the Sunday to fit it in before it opened on the Monday.

Commercial you can get away with, but how would you feel when your eating your Sunday roast at the table with your family and in laws etc. and the window cleaner's more or less looking through the window at you, some people have no shame :P
Unless of course it was pre arranged but I would'nt even expect Cowboy window cleaners to just turn up and start cleaning on a Sunday.

Never worked on a sunday as am just building up my own round and still have gaps to fill on week days, but I am helping my partner out this sunday on a new office clean that he has just got.  But did work last new years day morning - 5.00 am start to do the internal window clean whilst he was using the wfp on the outside.  Thought I was mad at the time but it was quite amusing watching all the drunks walking home. :)

I do a couple of shop fronts in the High Street. Parking Monday-Saturday is a no-go...so I do them early Sunday morning. Have been known to do them, come home and go back to bed ;D
