Its only 9months and still under warranty so I've emailed Merril Fox so i will see what they say. Thanks for reply ducky but i think it must be somthing else.

Hi,whats the machine may i ask?
When your drawing from the butt,is the inlet hose from the bottom of the butt or the top,it maybe losing gravity pressure,if its working from the mains ok,you have pressure,if you've put your hose in at the top of the butt and try to suck from the bottom it wont have it,i hope you get what i'm talking about ???

A lot of the US machines simply don't have the ability to draw water from a barrel. Gravity feed with a large bore pie will work ok tho.

merril would not sell a duff machinew so it must be a problem that can be sorted. email merril fast. :-X

No! not when sucking, the nozzle orifce is far to small to let all the air out.
Take any atatchment off the end of you high pressure hose EG lance/gun or surface cleaner, so its just a hose. Drop your suction tube (bigger than the mains water one at least 20mm) into the water filled butt. Start engine and run on LOW revs untill all the air is purged out, then stop engine connect your lance etc then start on full revs, begin work
If that don't work youve got a sucking air fault or faulty valve/s

Its a 13hp honda , I am drawing the water from the bottom of butt via 1inch pipe about 3metres long, I will try that today drivewasher and I'll let you know how i get on, thanks Dave.

Agreed theres air getting in somewhere,is there no signs of leaks when on mains water, engine off?

There was a small drip coming from a small plastic numpty under the pressure adjuster. I might be wrong but looking at manual it looks like an injector ???

I have done what dw suggested and it worked to start with, I let go of the trigger and then put revs up to full, when i pulled trigger again nothing coming out, water dripping out of this numpty/valve thingy so i think that may be my problem, many thanks for your help and suggestions regards Dave :)

make sure the detergent mixer is OFF IE screwed in fully.
I always remove them completly as they are a nusiance

Thanks dw I have taken it off I agree they do get in the way, hopefully I have the answer , Hal from merril fox says the drip is from the thermal relief valve , my pump must have overheated at some point and damaged it so I wiil get a new one and see what happens Regards Dave :)
