Title: Cat spray.... U.S.N?
Post by: daysdeepclean on August 14, 2009, 09:37:19 am
Just had a lady call to treat a carpet for the stench of cat spray, wants it done for yesterday of course! I gave her a quote over the phone and told her I would treat it with USN on completion of a HWE clean. She asked if I could guarnantee success to which of course I replied "No!" They have tried everything ::)

Will USN do the trick?  I'm assuming the cat spray is just a form of highly concentrated urine..... Nice!

No guarantee is the right approach Colin. I've got a similar job next week and have already warned the customer that what you see on the surface may be the tip of the iceberg with far more contamination below in the underlay and probably the sub-floor as well. You can try USN but I have my doubts that it will cure the problem.

Here's an idea that I haven't used yet, when they say can you guarantee you could say Yes but shall we start with the cheaper option that's got an 80% chance of working.

Then if they are persistant you say to guarantee it will be £700. That includes removal of the old carpet and underlay, sealing the floor and fogging the room.  :D

They didn't get back in touch..... I priced up accordingly, that is to say I didn't really want the job so gave a high
