Had a phonecall from a new area and just had to refuse it, five bed detatched too :(
I just can't catch up at the moment. Felt really bad after i'd put the phone down - I told her it just wasn't worth my while driving six miles for one job - could have been a huge house for all I know, but I can't spare the time to look.
-
My phone has gone quiet lately think ive taken 1 or two new jobs over last 5/6 weeks might have to get knocking

It's all come together davey-boy, think of the days past you could only dream of being choosy! :D
Well done Sir.
Soon you'll be dreaming of eggs!!!! ;D or maybe an electric reel? ;)
-
Just dreaming of a day off at the moment ;D
I had four gutter jobs come in today alone. I just don't get it.
-
Ftp, if you're rushed off your feet, why bother with gutter work, sub it out. Concentrate on replacing naff work with new customers. I'm always looking for new work (detached houses and commercial only, in the South Hams of Devon) if anyone asks you. Make it worth your while.
-
I think the thing to do is to start putting high prices in and then I can afford to walk away from those types of jobs. If I still get them then all good.
-
I do not yet have to turn work away...but I do quote higher prices with an aim to dumping some of the customers that I either do not like, poor payers or bad access jobs.
So for all those starting up...just think in a few years your issues will all change from not having enough to...who shall I stop cleaning for?
Cheers
Dave.
ps...I am feeling sorry for myself as I think I have that Mexican cow flu...don't tell the boss as I am blowing a sickie.

Only take work on thats around by current work. Lucky enough not too have too chase work. Still got to get round making it more compact. Just dont like dropping long standing custys.
