hi did my first three carpet cleans today1 small bedroom and 2 sitting room average size i used my puzzi 100 and i was really pleased with the result and the customers were happy to there was a few stains on the carpet in 1 off the sitting rooms so i sprayed some spot and stain remover on and give it a rub ,left for a bit and cleaned the carpet and the stains have gone so I'm looking to do these size rooms for now and stairs nothing to big as i am just starting . just wondering how did you guys start off ? did you just do small jobs to start

not had any yet but a friend off the family used to run his own business before so l have spoken with him a lot for help and advice but I'm looking to go on some courses Ive seen some in Leicester and Nottingham but not sure which one to go for

I started off doing friends and relations, then moved on to the unsuspecting LOL
It's good you have one under your belt so you know what's what. I would seriously consider a carpet cleaning course if you haven't done one yet as you will find it pays for itself over and over.

yeah I'm definately going to get book up for one but like i said in my last post no sure the 1 in Nottingham is a 1day and the 1 in leicester is a 2day also how do you rate the puzzi 100 as a starter machine for doing small to medium size rooms and stairs and landings

As professional cleaners we considered a puzzi 100 as a domestic machine or a hire machine BUT yes most of us did start with something like that, I have a puzzi for small spot removal jobs.
After training and more practice and a few muggings upgrade to something a lot bigger and you'll find that cleaning becomes easier, better, faster and drier.

Surprisingly " gentle " replies to this post and I agree with what's been said. The little Puzzi is a " light weight " but nonetheless capable machine for small jobs and ideal for starting / learning.
With low powered machines there's always the danger of overwetting, but some practical training will help overcome this.
I'd guess 99% of carpet cleaners started with low powered machines and learned " on the hoof ". It's much easier now with courses available and encyclopaediac information available from a forum like this.

The 2 day course in Leicester will be the one run by National Carpet Cleaners Association.
They dont sell machines or cleaning fluids so you should get unbiased non-product led training.
I have done the NCCA course and found it very beneficial.
