Title: customer base
Post by: angleside on August 05, 2009, 09:27:44 pm
Hello I am new here and I was wondering if there was anybody out there that could help me with any ideas on how to generate a customer base.  I started my wheelie bin cleaning service 7 weeks ago I have placed a large ad in our local paper, leaflet drop via our local paper and a couple of ads in our free paper and now I have started to tie labels on to the handles of bins just to make my presents known.  I have read here in the forum that some cleaners go door to door does this work. Anybody out there with any good ideas to build a run.

Yep, get out there and knock. For those that are not in, leave a flyer. And if your other half can go out knocking aswell that would be even better. People seem to take to women and even better if they see it as a family business

Thanks for the advise, i guess waiting for customers to come to me in the early days is a dream so it will be door knocking for me, I do feel though once i can be seen cleaning in an area other customers will want my services, again thanks......

Vic

PS I do have my home address on my flyers also payment options and lots of other details stating why you should have your bin clean and that i am fully cover by environment agency, water board, local authority etc. and a member of the national wheeled bin washers..... ;D

To early to say as I have only been trading for 7 weeks, but at only £3.50 per month thats about £0.80 a week so it is a small outlay, fingers crossed and lots of knocking......
