If a pump has a reduction of water flow without any adjusting of the flow using a varistream or inline valve, does the indicate the pump is on the blink ? It can go from a normal flow to a trickle,I've checked for blockages and all is well,it happens maybe 1- 2 times a day, when it does happen I swop over to my back up pump,,,any ideas ??

It could be sucking in a tiny amount of air

most likely an air lock happened to me at first for no apparent reason , all i do is turn the the flowmaster right up to push out airlock then back to normal, One more think if you are using a trolley system don't let containers run dry otherwise you will get airlocks

how long does it take to clear then once you have turned the flow up..

I had simular problem with my shurflo pump, turned out to be a burnt out pressure switch. got a replacement from maplins for £1.50

when it starts to play up it will last for a 1/2 hr to an hour,so switch over pump,
