-
me too sat at home waiting for it to pass aaaarrrhhhh :'(

Yeap bad in Plymouth AGAIN >:(
And who said that you can clean commercial in the rain!?
Done 2 jobs this morning in heavy rain and both really really did not like the fact I was there cleaning. Job number 3 said you are not cleaning our windows in this, come back another day!
So called the rest of the day off (commercial only today) I’m now home very very wet, with 3 not very happy commercials. Going to do it my way from now on, if its raining I’m not working can’t afford to alienate my customers.

you need a rain guarantee :P :P
on a serious note, you make a good point "if its raining I’m not working can’t afford to alienate my customers."
though i am sure the rain-workers will say " customers just need to be trained "

it has been raining so much here lately that I find myself looking forward to winter, when hopefully I can get some work done.
-
Just back from an "in and out" commercial today and off to do a con roof safto unless the rain gets really bad.
But no domestic for me in this weather.

Come on in! The waters well warm!
Seriosly, how do your custies expect you to earn aliving?
If you don't come regularly then maybe you won't be there at all in the future. It probably helps that I'm cheap & cheerful.
When I take on a custy, I let them know I shall be there all weathers. It's there from the start.
I wear a lght Dri as a Bone coat over shorts, t shirt & open sandals. Plus a leather wide brimmed hat. I never feel wet & as I said, the waters warm!

Does anybody on here really think customers give a monkeys how your expected to make a living, pay your bills etc. if theres bad weather ! ::) Ha !, and as for rain guarentees and training your customers ??? they probably think we're the ones who need the training, afterall who's paying our wages and giving us an income ? We are just the window cleaner

I don't normally work in the rain but I was this morning.
I'm doing the front of one house wfp when out comes the neighbour.
"How much do you charge?" she asked.
Gave her my rates.
"Yes please," she says "Can you start now?" Then Pays me before I even start.
New custie on my books!

thas not true massa. Isa a hard working slave same as you!
I'm in the deep south ( well, somerset) & if you've been at it more than 5 years wiith the same custies then you gets respect.
They appreciate it's every 6 weeks come what may. Even snow.
Let's get this in perspective:
as soon as you leave their house, the windows start getting dirty. So every 6 weeks is maintenance. In effect, their tenner is securing them a place on your valuable round. It's a service.

nice one! There's joy in being appreciated. It's the 'new' custies who can irritate you. Some don't realise when they're getting it good.
